City were way off the pace last season, like every single 100-meter sprinter against Usain Bolt in his prime.
I can't see that scenario perpetuating, though, especially after Man City's summer of transfers and spending. They doled out over $150 million on four players, all of whom were hand-selected by Pep Guardiola to fix his incomplete jigsaw puzzle.
They aren't flying at peak form to start the season, though.
However, comparatively slow starts are nothing new for City. They've been hampered by Rodri's absence early on, but he's set to return in September.
They won four consecutive Premier League titles before Liverpool ended the run last season. With an injection of some fresh blood, a less stagnant feel, and Rodri patrolling the midfield, I reckon City will recapture its spot atop the top flight, as long as they don't fall too far behind the eight ball in the meantime.
