NHL Player Props Today: Best Bets & Goal Scorer Picks for Tuesday

Tuesday presents a rare opportunity to take advantage of three 5-star picks in my NHL player props and best bets.

The Buffalo Sabres look to be in tough against the Edmonton Oilers on the second night of a back-to-back, particularly with signs of improvement, at least offensively, from the home team. As part of my NHL best bets, I'm doubling down on Connor McDavid while expecting his partner in crime, Leon Draisaitl, to also have a productive night.

McDavid, at long last, has shifted gears and is prioritizing getting pucks on goal. Hopefully, it's not temporary, as I firmly believe McDavid is the best version of himself when he shoots as much as he dishes. 

The Oilers captain has 12 shots in the previous two games and reaped the benefits against the Seattle Kraken, netting his first hat trick of the season. He's facing a Sabres team that played in Calgary on Monday and has allowed at least four goals in the last three games, all of which ended in defeat.

If McDavid fires four shots or more on goal, you'll earn $16.20 on a $10 bet at FanDuel. 

⬆️ Connor McDavid player prop: Over 1.5 points (+115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

McDavid must have heard on the grapevine that people are saying Nathan MacKinnon has taken over as the world's best player. He had multi-point outings in the previous three wins in response, amassing eight points. 

Five of those points came on the power play, with the formidable five reunited. That first power play unit, which includes Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Evan Bouchard, has scored on five of the last six opportunities.

The Sabres, who allow the third-most goals per game, should be somewhat fatigued after losing 7-4 to the Flames last night. That's an ominous proposition for Lindy Ruff and Co. bet365 offers the best price (+115), where a winning $10 bet will profit $11.50.

🔥 Nathan MacKinnon (+100) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nathan MacKinnon, the clear Hart Trophy odds favorite, has 49 points (24 goals, 25 assists) in 29 games, six points ahead of second-place Macklin Celebrini. He's on pace for 68 goals, which would be 17 more than his previous career best.

MacKinnon has ensured the Avalanche remain well ahead on the Stanley Cup odds leaderboard, with the 30-year-old scoring 10 goals in the last 10 games.

The odds for MacKinnon to score tonight against Nashville vary wildly, with bet365 providing a price of -140 at the low end of the market. FanDuel, meanwhile, offers the best value (+100). Those odds carry a 50% probability.

🔥 Leon Draisaitl (+115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Draisaitl has a goal in three of the previous four games. Combine that with the Oilers' recent offensive outburst, which has seen them score 19 goals in their previous three games.

The Sabres have the worst defensive record in enemy rinks, allowing 4.46 goals per game. While their penalty kill is third overall, it drops to 15th on the road. 

The odds for a Draisaitl goal range from +100 to +115, with FanDuel providing the best value. Its +115 odds represent a 46.51% probability, and a winning $10 bet will line your pockets with $11.50 in profits.
