My NHL player props and best bets today feature one of the hottest goal scorers in the league: Cole Caufield. 

I've headlined Auston Matthews, who has enjoyed lots of recent success against the Buffalo Sabres, along with David Pastrnak, the second-most prolific scorer in the last month. Tom Wilson rounds out the picks, with the soon-to-be Olympian firing on cylinders since returning from injury.

Goal Caufield is living up to his nickname, with goals in five straight entering tonight's home tilt. He has eight in the current hot streak, putting the Golden Knights on notice. I wonder if Bill Guerin and Co. still feel it was the right decision to leave him off the Team USA Olympic roster.

The Canadiens' sniper scored two goals in the previous two meetings against Vegas. Bruce Cassidy's team, meanwhile, have lost two of three and was beaten up by a struggling Ottawa Senators team last time out.

Auston Matthews, Maple Leafs, Anytime goal (+105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Matthews is a one-man wrecking crew when he plays the Buffalo Sabres, scoring 10 in the previous 10 meetings. This, admittedly, is a far better Sabres team. Still, Matthew has a knack for lighting the lamp against them, and I'm backing the trend to continue.

David Pastrnak, Bruins, Over 1.5 points (+142) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Only Nikita Kucherov (31) has more points than Pastrnak's 26 points in the previous 13 games. The Bruins' MVP has three multi-point games in the last five and leads the charge against a Nashville Predators team that has allowed at least five goals in three of four. 

Tom Wilson, Capitals, Over 0.5 assists (+120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wilson is back and hasn't missed a beat since returning to the Capitals' lineup, registering four assists in three games. He has every intention of flying into the Olympics and is up to speed despite missing almost three weeks with a lower-body injury. 

Wilson has at least one assist in six of his previous seven games and faces a Seattle Kraken team that conceded at least four goals in four of the previous six.
