The Olympic men's hockey tournament enters the knockout round as I offer my Germany vs. France prediction for their qualification matchup on Tuesday.

The loser will be eliminated, while the winner will take on Slovakia in the quarterfinals. Puck drop is at 6:10 a.m. ET (CBC, Peacock) from Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan. Germany is a massive -750 moneyline betting favorite.

🏒 Germany vs. France prediction: Olympic men's hockey

Our expert Olympic hockey picks are based on the latest betting odds at the best sports betting sites.

Bet type Bet Best odds Confidence Units
Puck line bet Germany -2.5 -135 via BetMGM ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2u
Total Under 6.5 +114 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐ 0.5u
Player prop Tim Stutzle anytime goal -115 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1u

💰 Germany vs. France best bet: Germany -2.5 (-135)

Germany likely enters this matchup disappointed that it couldn't put forth a better effort against the United States on Sunday.

But unlike that matchup, the Germans undoubtedly have the talent advantage versus France with their Olympic lives on the line. Leon Draisaitl and Tim Stutzle will have plenty of space on the ice to work their magic and dominate the winless French.

France surprisingly hung around early in its previous two matchups, but faded as each went on. They've lost all three of their games by at least three goals.

Score prediction: Germany 5, France 1

🔥 Best Germany vs. France prop bet: Tim Stutzle anytime goal (-115)

While Leon Draisaitl is the big-ticket name, Tim Stutzle has been by far the most dangerous scorer on Germany.

Stutzle is tied for the tournament lead with four goals. We just saw the tournament's other top goal scorer (Canada's Macklin Celebrini) go off for two scores against France over the weekend.

I expect Stutzle to follow suit and light the lamp on Tuesday. Despite his hot scoring streak, the Ottawa Senators star actually has much longer odds (-115) than Draisaitl (-200). I'd play this bet to -150.
