💰 Best player prop bets for Canadiens vs. Maple Leafs
Our NHL player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.
⬆️ William Nylander Over 2.5 shots ⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the last three games against the Maple Leafs' most bitter adversaries, Nylander fired 18 shots on goal. That's an average of 4.5 per game. The elevated shot count led to two goals. He averaged three shots per game overall last season, but was more productive on home ice, where he averaged 3.73.
With Mitch Marner plying his trade in Sin City, the onus is on Nylander to step up even more this season. That should manifest, at least early, into a higher shot count. I doubled down on this pick with my best NHL player props today.
Of the best sports betting sites, bet365 (-135) offers the best odds. A winning $10 bet will yield a $7.41 profit.
⬆️ Cole Caufield Over 2.5 shots ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Caufield has struggled to compile points against the Maple Leafs, with none in the last three. That absence of production isn't due to a lack of shots, though, as the 24-year-old hit the Over on this total in seven of the previous nine meetings. He has 31 shots in the last six games against Toronto, an average of 5.2.
Caufield fired five on goal at Scotiabank Arena in April, the last time he played there. FanDuel's -125 odds are more palatable than the rest of the best sports betting apps, the odds of which range between -135 and -140.
🔥 Auston Matthews anytime goal ⭐⭐⭐
The Matthews era sans-Mitch Marner has arrived. I'm not unearthing anything by saying the Maple Leafs captain must be more productive without his prolific sidekick. The question is: Can he be? The season opener at home against the Canadiens offers an excellent litmus test, and I'm backing him to pass it with flying colors.
He has two goals in his last four games against the Habs, with 16 shots in that span.
And despite playing only 67 games last season, Matthews had 41.1 expected goals, the most of any skater. His 33-goal haul was eight shy of where it should have been, but I expect his snake-bitten ways to become a thing of the past.
Most of the sportsbooks are in agreement, offering -110 odds. A winning $10 bet will profit $9.09.
