Will Myles Garrett Break the Regular Season Sack Record?

The Cleveland Browns' season may be all but over, but Myles Garrett is still chasing history - and the Kalshi prediction market thinks he'll win that race. The likely Defensive Player of the Year is just 1.5 sacks away from breaking Michael Strahan's and T.J. Watt's sack record of 22.5 - the most sacks since it became an official stat in 1982.
With three games remaining on the schedule, the question remains, will Myles Garrett break the regular-season sack record? My money is on "absolutely." Let's dive in.

After going three games without a sack from Week 4-6, Garrett has been on an absolute tear, not only putting himself in a position to dismantle the regular-season sacks record, but also to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award; he's become the runaway favorite.
Since Week 6, he's registered 17.5 sacks, including a five-sack performance against the New England Patriots, totaling 21.5 on the year. By my math, all he needs is 1.5 to break this record, and with three games remaining, he's in the driver's seat to do so. Let's take a look at his schedule.
Myles Garrett remaining schedule
| Week | Date | Home/Away | Opponent | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16 | Sun, Dec 21 | vs | Buffalo | 1 p.m. ET |
| 17 | Sun, Dec 28 | vs | Pittsburgh | 1 p.m. ET |
| 18 | TBD (Flex) | @ | Cincinnati | TBD |
Garrett has Josh Allen, who's been sacked the sixth-most in all of football (33), in Week 16, before going up against the immobile Aaron Rodgers and (potentially) Joe Burrow. Kalshi nails it with its 93% projection, as Garrett will likely make history before Week 18 officially kicks off.
What other record can Garrett break?
Believe it or not, Garrett has another Watt record in his sights - this one is JJ's, though. Yup, he’s within striking distance of J.J. Watt’s single-season tackles-for-loss record.
Watt set the bar at 39 tackles for a loss back in 2012 with the Texans. Garrett already sits at 32, the second-most ever in a single season, giving him a real shot to make even more history down the stretch.
The six-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro has shattered his own career high, topping last year’s total of 22 tackles for a loss by 10. He's truly one of a kind. It's just sad that it always comes in a losing effort (sorry, Cleveland fans).
