🚨 Projected worst NFL weather games
🥇 Rams vs. Bears: 17 degrees, 20% chance of snow.
🥈 Texans vs. Patriots: 32 degrees, 26% chance of snow.
⛅ Bills vs. Broncos weather report
- Date: Saturday, Jan. 17 @ 4:30 p.m. ET
- Location: Empower Field at Mile High (Denver)
- Forecast: 42 degrees, clear
- Wind: 5 mph SE
It's projected to be a chilly but sunny day in Denver, with clear conditions and light wind.
The Broncos look for revenge against a Bills team that knocked them out of the playoffs in the wild-card round last season. The latest NFL odds have this matchup lined as a virtual pick'em, with Denver now a 1-point betting favorite after opening at Bills -1.5.
Buffalo scraped out a road win last week in Jacksonville, the first of Josh Allen's postseason career, but the Bills face another steep task this weekend against a Broncos defense that led the league with 68 sacks in the regular season.
Denver quarterback Bo Nix averaged more completions, passing yards, and touchdowns at Mile High this season ahead of the Broncos' first home playoff game in 10 years.
⛅ 49ers vs. Seahawks weather report
- Date: Saturday, Jan. 17 @ 8 p.m. ET
- Location: Lumen Field (Seattle)
- Forecast: 44 degrees, clear
- Wind: 2 mph NE
Weather isn't expected to play much of a role in Seattle for this NFC West rubber match.
Perhaps a bit surprisingly, there's a 0% chance of precipitation in the Northwest city as of midweek. There's also little-to-no projected wind for Saturday night.
These teams split their season series 1-1. San Francisco's win came all the way back in Week 1, while Seattle beat the 49ers 13-3 in the regular-season finale.
The Seahawks are the biggest favorite of the week at 7.5 points, but the 49ers are 8-2 against the spread on the road this season.
❄️ Texans vs. Patriots weather report
- Date: Sunday, Jan. 18 @ 3 p.m. ET
- Location: Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Mass.)
- Forecast: 32 degrees, 26% chance of snow
- Wind: 7 mph SW
The Texans vs. Patriots forecast features the highest likelihood of snow of the Divisional Round. Though that sits at just 26% as of midweek, we'll keep an eye on how that changes as Sunday approaches.
Both defenses are coming off dominant performances in their respective playoff openers, combining to allow just nine points and zero touchdowns. As a result, this game has the lowest total of the weekend at 41 points.
The cold conditions will make holding onto the football more difficult for both quarterbacks. Houston's C.J. Stroud hasn't had the best track record in cold conditions, including fumbling the ball five times in the wild-card win in chilly Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, New England's Drake Maye also fumbled twice last week.
The Patriots are better built to lean on their running game in this matchup, with the NFL's sixth-best rushing offense, compared to the Texans' 22nd-ranked unit. A Houston offense already lacking in weapons could be without Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins, who exited the win over the Steelers with a concussion.
❄️ Rams vs. Bears weather report
- Date: Sunday, Jan. 18 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
- Location: Soldier Field (Chicago)
- Forecast: 17 degrees, 20% chance of snow
- Wind: 11 mph SW
Soldier Field in Chicago is going to be freezing on Sunday evening. The forecast projects the temperature to be 17 degrees but feel like 1 degree by the fourth quarter.
Wind could also be a factor, with projected 18-mph gusts, alongside a 20% chance of snow.
The Bears should be more than comfortable with those conditions, as the team has played nearly the entire second half of its schedule in cold temperatures.
Matthew Stafford never had to contend with freezing conditions during the Rams' Super Bowl run in 2022, and the NFL MVP odds favorite is 5-7 in his career in Chicago.
While the Bears have built a reputation for incredible comebacks, Los Angeles has actually averaged more second-half points per game than Chicago this season.
