🐴 Safest NFL survivor pick: Colts (92.59%) over Titans

The Colts' offense continued to roll last week in a 38-24 road win against the Chargers. Indianapolis has averaged 3.46 points per drive through seven games and is on pace to shatter the 3.19 points per drive record for a full season set by the 2007 Patriots.

There is not an easier game left on the Colts' schedule than this home tilt against a Titans team that is 1-6 for the second straight season.

Tennessee has lost 20 of 24 games after firing Mike Vrabel two years ago. That includes a 41-20 loss to Indianapolis in Week 3, where the Colts scored three touchdowns and a field goal on their final four possessions (excluding the last possession running out the clock).

🪶 Best NFL survivor pick: Falcons (80%) over Dolphins

Things went from bad to worse for Miami in a 31-6 road loss to Cleveland last week. The Dolphins fell to 1-6 and have now lost five consecutive road games, which is tied for the team’s longest streak since Mike McDaniel was named head coach.

It got so bad for Miami last week that it benched quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the fourth quarter, as his 10 interceptions are tied for the most in the NFL.

Miami’s run defense over the last three weeks allowed 206 yards to Rico Dowdle, a career-high 124 yards to Kimani Vidal, and now Quinshon Judkins became the first Browns player with three rushing touchdowns in a game since 2022.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson should run all over this leaky defense after he entered last week with the second-most rushing yards per game, making McDaniel’s seat even hotter.

🐯 NFL survivor strategy pick: Bengals (76.19%) over Jets

The Jets are off to their third 0-7 start in franchise history. They now have a bit of a quarterback controversy at the moment after Justin Fields was benched at halftime after going 6-for-12 for 46 yards in the first half.

A play on the Bengals falls under our “strategy pick” category, as New York has lost two straight games while allowing 13 or fewer points for the first time in team history. But that also speaks to the Jets’ offensive ineptitude, while that side of the ball does not look like an issue for the Joe Flacco-led Bengals.

In a Thursday night loss to Cincinnati last week, the Steelers allowed season-worsts in yards per play (6.5), passing yards (328), and passing touchdowns (three).

The Bengals will likely not be favored in any remaining game by as much as they are favored by this week. That makes them a great contrarian play to take advantage of the winless Jets.

🦅 NFL survivor pick to avoid: Eagles (78.26%) over Giants

Just two weeks ago, the Giants' offense exploded for four rushing touchdowns in a 34-17 home win over the Eagles. The win was New York’s fourth in 18 games against Philadelphia.

Philadelphia will be out for revenge this week, but I want no part of risking my survivor pool life on a team with such a recent non-competitive loss to its opponent.

New York allowed 33 points in the fourth quarter in an inexcusable road loss to Denver last week. But the Giants still scored 32 points and totaled 26 first downs against a Broncos defense that was on pace for an NFL record for sacks entering last week.

Those that have still yet to use Philadelphia in survivor pools should plan ahead for a much better opportunity to use it in a Week 15 home game against the Raiders.

💵 Circa Survivor contest update

After 4,233 entries were carried into the Circa Sports survivor contest for Week 7, the biggest landmine was the Steelers, whose loss to the Bengals eliminated 181 entries. Other than that, six of the top seven most popular teams won outright heading into the Monday night doubleheader.

❓ NFL survivor pool FAQs

What is the best NFL survivor pick this week?

The safest NFL survivor pick is the Indianapolis Colts over the Tennessee Titans, while the best pick is the Atlanta Falcons to beat the Miami Dolphins.

How do NFL survivor pools work?

Each week, you must choose one team to win their game outright, but you can't use the same team twice across the 18-week NFL regular season. That means you must pick teams that are likely to win but won't be needed later in the year.

How do you win an NFL survivor pool?

The best way to win an NFL survivor pool is to make strategic picks each week that avoid upsets while leaving the best teams available late in the season. If you make the same picks as everyone in your pool, you won't be able to win - but you need to pick teams that can avoid knocking you out early.
