Last week, Saints’ rookie Tyler Shough saw his first meaningful action at quarterback, and of the 30 passes he attempted, eight were thrown to tight ends. Johnson was targeted five times, catching three of those passes for 35 yards.

Johnson ended last week’s game with 53 yards, and he’s now topped 50 in back-to-back weeks. This season, he has at least 49 receiving yards in five of eight games. And while the Rams have only allowed 36 receptions for 301 yards to tight ends, Shough proved last week that tight ends are his preferred safety net, as he didn’t throw a single pass to running backs.

Puka Nacua is returning this week, but Adams is still the Rams’ leading touchdown recipient. He’s caught six of Matthew Stafford’s 17 touchdown passes, and he hauled in three last week against the Jaguars.

Adams has scored in four of seven games, which is bad news for a Saints’ defense that has already allowed 14 passing touchdowns this season. That’s tied for the ninth-most in the league, despite the Saints actually allowing the ninth-fewest passing yards per game.
