🏈 Steelers notes for Week 1

The Steelers released cornerback Beanie Bishop, who had four interceptions for the team last season.
Despite the fact Pittsburgh signed punter Cameron Johnston to a three-year, $9 million contract last season, the veteran was waived on Tuesday (Aug. 26), and the team decided to keep 30-year-old journeyman Corliss Waitman, who was with the Steelers for two games in 2021 and in Denver for the entire 2022 season.
While some teams made big news this week by signing key players who had either been holding out or having a "sit-in," such wasn't the case for Pittsburgh. As of late Tuesday night (Aug. 26), DT Cameron Heyward remained unsigned.
