The Detroit Lions are one of several teams that need a win in Week 18 in order to remain in contention for the playoffs. However, they will face a tough test in Green Bay due to the freezing conditions. Read on for our NFL Week 18 parlay picks.
The Lions enter the final week of the NFL season still alive for their first postseason berth since 2016, needing a victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night and a Seattle Seahawks loss to the Los Angeles Rams in order to secure a wild card berth.
However, a January night game at Lambeau Field will be a huge challenge for the Lions’ offense, something we’re looking to capitalize on as one of our best NFL parlay picks for Week 18 (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook).

NFL Parlay Predictions
Kansas City Chiefs moneyline (-425)
Kansas City failed to cover the spread once again last week as a big favorite, eking out a 27-24 win over Denver as two-touchdown chalk to fall to 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine. But even if the Chiefs often seem to play down to their competition, Patrick Mahomes and Co. generally get the job done in the end, winning 23 of their last 27 games as a favorite.
A win is all Kansas City needs in this spot to keep its hopes alive of securing the top seed in the AFC, and that seems safe to expect against an opponent the Chiefs have defeated in 14 of the last 16 meetings. Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham was impressive in his first start of the season last week against San Francisco, throwing for 365 yards and three touchdowns, but KC now has game tape to study and should be able to keep him and the Vegas offense in check.
Dallas Cowboys first half spread -3.5 (-115)
After opening as 5.5-point favorites, the Cowboys moved out to full touchdown chalk when news broke that Sam Howell would be making his first career start this week for Washington. That’s a steep price to lay on the road against a division rival, even if the Commanders are out of playoff contention while Dallas is still playing for the NFC East title and top seed in the conference, so we’ll take our chances on the Cowboys leading by more than a field goal at halftime instead.
Taking Dallas in the first half also protects us against the possibility of the Cowboys pulling their starters in the second half if Philadelphia builds a huge lead over the New York Giants, since an Eagles win would make it impossible for Dallas to move up in the standings.
Detroit Lions Under 22.5 points (-115)
The NFL’s decision to flex the Lions/Packers game to Sunday night means that Detroit won’t even have anything to play for in this game if the Seahawks defeat the Rams earlier in the day. Even if the Lions are still alive for a wild card berth when this game kicks off, they’ll have to deal with playing a night game at Lambeau Field in January, which is hardly an ideal situation for a dome team that has one of the top passing attacks in the NFL.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff’s struggles in cold weather over the years are well-documented, and he’ll be facing a Green Bay defense that has not allowed more than 20 points in a game since November. Detroit is also averaging just 19.3 points per game on the road this season, a huge drop-off from the 31.3 they’ve averaged this year in the climate-controlled conditions of Ford Field.
