There are plenty of elements to consider when making your Super Bowl predictions as The Big Game on Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. ET inches closer, and on that list are the Levi's Stadium trends for 2026.

It's the second time the NFL's brightest spotlight will shine on the Bay Area stadium and home to the San Francisco 49ers. Let's outline the most important factors tied to the venue as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots get set to square off.

It's not the Super Bowl without some weirdness in the air, including the Super Bowl jerseys betting trends. We get that in abundance with one of the key concerns tied to Levi's Stadium and the surrounding area, and understanding it requires quantum biology.

Elsewhere, the previous Super Bowl held at the then still new and shiny Levi's Stadium was mired in field issues. And although the Niners' injuries certainly played a role, the team's home field was center stage to several games with sky-high scoring this season.

Many of the results at Levi's Stadium are of course tied to the 49ers in every way, from the talent that led to their 12-5 record and winning in the wild-card round, to the team's mountain of injuries.

Still, Super Bowl 60 features the second- and third-ranked offenses in points per game, with the Patriots averaging 28.8 points and the Seahawks at 28.4. The 2026 Super Bowl odds are showing the game getting a total of 46.5.

The Over went 4-4 during the season at Levi's Stadium, as did the Niners at home against the spread. But that only tells a partial tale regarding the game totals. Nearly half of the games featured some serious fireworks.

Game Result Total points O/U
vs. Rams (Week 10) 42-26, Rams 68 49.5
vs. Titans (Week 15) 37-24, 49ers 61 44.5
vs. Bears (Week 17) 42-38, 49ers 80 51.5

There were three late-season contests that soared far over the pregame total from the best Super Bowl betting sites, going at least 16 points above the number, and nearly 30 points in one case.

⚡What is the 49ers' electric substation injury theory?

First, please recall the utter injury decimation the 49ers dealt with this past season.

Yes, the Seahawks eventually steamrolled them in the NFC Championship Game. But even reaching that point was impressive considering the club lost 262 man games due to injury, which was the seventh-highest leaguewide and fourth-highest among playoff teams.

The losses were substantial too, including George Kittle, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and first-round pick Mykel Williams suffering season-ending injuries. Quarterback Brock Purdy missed time as well, as did receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings. It all came after the team led the league in adjusted games lost last year too (141.2), showing a recurring trend.

Which is why every possible angle is being investigated to halt the issue, including one that feels like it requires the services of Bill Nye.

There's some concern about the long-term effects of Levi's Stadium, and the 49ers' practice facility, being in direct proximity to an electrical substation.

This is when it feels like you should fasten your best tin-foil hat tightly. But although at first it sounds zany, that fades with the 49ers recently vowing to investigate everything tied to their rash of injuries, including the substation.

"Because it deals with allegedly the health and safety of our players, I think you have to look into everything," 49ers general manager John Lynch said recently, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN. "We've been reaching out to anyone and everyone to see, does a study exist other than a guy sticking an apparatus underneath the fence and coming up with a number that I have no idea what that means? That's what we know exists."

It's a hotly debated topic within the scientific community. One on side there's quantam biology practitioner Peter Cowan, who went viral with this tweet.

Then there's Frank de Vocht, a leading expert in electromagnetic force and how it impacts humans. He tossed aside the theory while speaking to Wagoner, calling it "nonsense." While Levi's Stadium opened in 2014, the 49ers have been practicing in Santa Clara since 1988.

Nonetheless, the 49ers are investigating further. In the meantime, the Patriots will be practicing using Stanford's facilities, with the Seahawks at San Jose State.

🏟️ What was the field issue during Super Bowl 2016 at Levi's Stadium?

The other Super Bowl held at Levi's Stadium came in 2016, and it featured the last moment of glory for Peyton Manning. A dominant Denver Broncos defense at the peak of Von Miller's powers propped up the rapidly aging legend, leading to a 24-10 win for the AFC side over the Carolina Panthers in what would be Manning's final game.

The Panthers were blanked during two quarters of the low-scoring affair, and both quarterbacks were dreadful. Manning posted a QB rating of 56.6, with Cam Newton at 55.4. The teams combined for 11 sacks too, including Newton going down six times.

But the field was at least a factor.

The early days of Levi's Stadium featured a notoriously poor playing surface. Many players switched cleats during the 2016 Super Bowl, and the Broncos were complaining about the sod, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. There was lots of slipping in the first half, most critically a fall from Manning that led to a sack.

The sod needed to be replaced twice during the opening weeks of the then new stadium.

"The footing on the field was terrible," Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib said after the game, via The Associated Press. "San Fran has to play eight games on that field, so they better do something to get it fixed. It was terrible."

There's now been a meticulous process to prepare the field for the second Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium, with the league's turf guru Nick Pappas leading the way. He's using sod from the same farm that was utilized prior to Super Bowl 58 just a few years ago in Las Vegas, again per The AP.

The 49ers' old field was removed on Jan. 6, shortly after their final home game of the season, with the new and freshly grown surface installed on Jan. 8.
