| Team | Fired coach | 2025 record | Top candidate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baltimore Ravens | John Harbaugh | 8-9 | Kevin Stefanski (40%) |
| Arizona Cardinals | Jonathan Gannon | 3-14 | Klint Kubiak (26%) |
| Las Vegas Raiders | Pete Carroll | 3-14 | Brian Flores (34%) |
| Cleveland Browns | Kevin Stefanski | 5-12 | Kliff Kingsbury (18%) |
| Atlanta Falcons | Raheem Morris | 8-9 | Klint Kubiak (31%) |
| New York Giants | Brian Daboll | 2-8* | Kevin Stefanski (28%) |
| Tennessee Titans | Brian Callahan | 1-5* | Matt Nagy (38%) |
After two head coaches were fired during the regular season (Brian Callahan and Brian Daboll), we saw four more names join this list on Sunday and Black Monday - and a fifth joined the fray after a stunning move on Tuesday.
John Harbaugh is out in Baltimore after the Ravens' season ended Sunday with a missed kick as time expired to put the finishing touches on an 8-9 campaign. It was the final straw for owner Steve Bisciotti, who is now tasked with replacing arguably the best coach in franchise history after 18 seasons together.
Raheem Morris was the first coach handed the pink slip in the immediate hours after the Atlanta Falcons' win on Sunday, and while it conflicted with earlier reporting that he'd return in 2026, it's hardly a surprise after three straight seasons with a losing record. Then came the firings of Kevin Stefanski and Pete Carroll, who were both among the favorites for which NFL head coaches will be fired entering Black Monday.
The Arizona Cardinals also dumped Jonathan Gannon after a 3-14 campaign, and we could see even more openings over the next 24-48 hours.

đĻââŦ Next Ravens head coach odds, rumors, candidates
The most shocking move of the 2026 NFL coaching carousel came Tuesday when the Ravens parted ways with Harbaugh, who won 180 games over 18 seasons in Baltimore including one of two Super Bowl victories in franchise history.
The early favorite to replace Harbaugh is Stefanski, who finds himself atop the list for multiple openings this cycle after a failed stint in Cleveland that included two Coach of the Year awards but not enough wins to keep his post. He's trading ahead of Kliff Kingsbury, who helped revive the Washington Commanders' offense two years ago but struggled in his lone NFL head coaching job in Arizona.
My money is on Los Angeles defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who previously worked with the Ravens as a defensive assistant and fits the mold that Baltimore ownership has coveted in the past. I break that down further with my Ravens next head coach predictions.
đĩ Next Cardinals head coach odds, rumors, candidates
The final firing on Black Monday came in Arizona, where the Cardinals parted ways with Jonathan Gannon after three uninspiring seasons as head coach for the former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator. And the early prediction market odds expect ownership to go in a different direction with an offensive-minded hire in 2026.
The top candidate in that mold is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who led one of the NFL's most efficient units with Sam Darnold at the helm in his first year with the team. He was trading at 26% in the immediate hours after Gannon's dismissal, while former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy (16%) and Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter (10%) were the only other candidates with a double-digit percentage to take the Arizona job.
đ´ââ ī¸ Next Raiders head coach odds, rumors, candidates
One season was all it took for the Raiders to move on from Pete Carroll, and the prediction market has already locked in on a clear candidate to replace him in Las Vegas.
Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores - who previously served as head coach for the Miami Dolphins before leading one of the NFL's best defenses up north - is the front-runner for the role given his stellar job with the Vikings and his existing relationship with minority owner Tom Brady. He was trading as high as 34% after Carroll's dismissal on Monday when no other candidates featured a double-digit percentage.
Keep an eye on Minter, who is one of the hottest candidates this cycle and serves as an alternative to Flores in the same mold of modern defensive genius. Our Andrew Reid breaks down this market further with his Raiders next head coach predictions.
đ¤ Next Browns head coach odds, rumors, candidates
While the Browns firing Stefanski was perhaps the least surprising move of Black Monday, it remains a mystery whom Cleveland will target to replace him - in part because the post is arguably the least desirable of any open spot in this year's coaching cycle.
The current favorite as of this writing is former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury (18%), who has resuscitated his NFL coaching profile after two years as the Commanders offensive coordinator. Perhaps he'll be the antidote to Cleveland's quarterback curse, or maybe McCarthy (13%) can work his magic as a program rebuilder.
If you're looking for a long shot, I'd keep my eyes on Tommy Rees (5%), the former Notre Dame quarterback and current offensive coordinator who has earned a positive reputation within the locker room despite the team's offensive woes. It feels like a matter of time before the 33-year-old gets a shot as a head coach - could now be the time?

đĒļ Next Falcons head coach odds, rumors, candidates
Not including the two in-season firings, the Falcons were the first to make a move this offseason after firing Morris in the immediate wake of Atlanta's season-ending win over the New Orleans Saints to secure a second straight 8-9 record. Early reports suggest owner Arthur Blank has already identified the Falcons' next head coach with former QB Matt Ryan likely assuming a key role in the organization and with this hiring process.
The latest odds suggest that candidate could be Kubiak (31%), a favorite for multiple jobs in this hiring cycle after impressive stints as the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks (2025) and Saints (2024). The Falcons have already requested to interview the Seattle assistant, whose team is on a bye week for the first round of the playoffs.
Atlanta has also requested to interview Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, though he isn't listed as an option in the latest prediction markets. Keep an eye on his name in this cycle along with North Carolina coach Bill Belichick (9%), who was a leading candidate for this job two years ago before Morris was hired.
đŊ Next Giants head coach odds, rumors, candidates
The Giants made the move in November to fire Brian Daboll, whose tenure had long worn its welcome amid a 20-40-1 run in New York. With two months to assess the market and put out feelers for candidates, it's still a wide-open race for the open role.
Stefanski, who was just fired by the Browns, is the current favorite in the prediction markets with a 28% chance to take the job, followed by McCarthy (21%) and John Harbaugh (15%) - a rumored candidate to get fired by the Baltimore Ravens after an 8-9 season. Harbaugh, like Stefanski and Daboll, have won Coach of the Year honors, while Harbaugh and McCarthy have both won the Super Bowl as head coaches.
If head coaching experience isn't a prerequisite, Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley (15%) feels like a strong pick to get the nod. He helped overhaul the Packers' defense into a top-flight unit after leaving the head coaching role at Boston College, and he has ties to the greater Tri-State area.
Our Dustin Saracini breaks down the top candidates for this role with his Giants next head coach predictions with a focus on Stefanski and a long shot.
âī¸ Next Titans head coach odds, rumors, candidates
It's been almost three months since the Titans let go of Brian Callahan just six games into his second season as an NFL head coach, and two clear candidates have emerged as the likeliest choices to replace him in Tennessee.
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who previously spent four years as the Chicago Bears head coach, is the clear front-runner with a 38% chance to take over in Nashville according to the latest prediction market odds. He's followed by McCarthy (23%), another coaching veteran who could turn around the culture in Tennessee.
If you're looking to buy a dark-horse candidate, Joe Brady has been rumored as a head-coaching candidate for multiple cycles now given his work with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense. That experience could prove attractive for Titans ownership as they look for the best way to maximize Cam Ward's growth during his rookie contract.
