My Broncos vs. Commanders first touchdown scorer predictions for Sunday Night Football are focusing on a handful of pass-catchers in Courtland Sutton, Deebo Samual, and long-shot Jeremy McNichols.

It's all part of our NFL predictions for Week 13, with Denver as the road favorite at -6 while trying to win a ninth straight game. Washington plays host at Northwest Stadium, and the Commanders are on the extreme opposite end while seeking to avoid a seventh straight loss.

💰 Best Sunday Night Football first touchdown scorer bets

🔥 Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos (+850) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Troy Franklin has been taking on a greater role than Courtland Sutton in the red zone this season, but the latter has still shown plenty of ability in that regard. That includes 18 touchdowns over the previous two seasons.

He's scored a productive yet more modest four this campaign. But Sutton is coming off his fifth outing with eight-plus targets, and his first since Week 8. Now a contested-catch menace gets to face a weak Commanders secondary that's given up the fifth-most touchdowns and yards to wide receivers.

If Sutton scores first, a $10 wager using these +850 odds from Caesars would lead to an $85 profit, with an implied probability of 10.53%.

Sutton might need to capitalize on one of the few scoring chances available, as our Mike Spector thinks we're in for a low-scoring affair in his Broncos vs. Commanders prediction.

🔥 Deebo Samuel, WR, Commanders (+1400) ⭐⭐⭐

The Commanders are getting a team scoring total of just 18.5 at some of the best sports betting sites. The obstacles to them scoring first are steep against the league's fifth-ranked pass defense and third-best run defense.

But you'll be rewarded with juicy odds if the Commanders do manage to stumble their way to opening the scoring. And similar to our reasoning for Jeremy McNichols below, it's best to go with an outlet who can provide Marcus Mariota with even a shred of comfort as he's surely ransacked. Enter Deebo Samuel.

Samuel's versatility as a pass-catcher and ball-carrier can offer Mariota that safety valve, especially since he's at his best as a wideout in the short-to-intermediate range while trying to churn out yards after the catch. He's scored seven times this season, including in two straight games, all despite missing two contests. Samuel has been on the other end for three of the seven touchdown passes Mariota has thrown this season, too.

If Samuel crosses the line first, a $10 wager using these +1400 betting odds from DraftKings would translate to a $140 profit, with an implied probability of 6.67%.

Our Dustin Saracini is eyeing another Commanders wideout as part of his Broncos vs. Commanders player props.

🔥 Jeremy McNichols, RB, Commanders (+4500) ⭐⭐

This is the market for a well-placed deep shot. And for that fun sprinkle, we turn to a lower rung on the Commanders' running back depth chart.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt has progressively been falling out of favor in Washington and getting his role reduced. Combine that with Mariota being under center in this game and likely finding himself under significant duress, and it's not hard to envision a scenario with more chances for McNichols, whose role is almost strictly isolated to passing downs.

The highlight of McNichols' season thus far was his five catches for 64 yards on six targets, all campaign highs, during one of Mariota's last starts. He now faces a Broncos team that's given up three receiving touchdowns to running backs, tied for the sixth-most.

The colossal +4500 betting odds from FanDuel would result in a $450 payout if McNichols scores first, and it's getting an implied probability of 2.17%.

If you're wanting to roll with McNichols at just a wee bit less risk, Esten McLaren is also featuring him in his anytime touchdown scorer predictions for Sunday Night Football.
