Expert NFL game picks

Dustin Saracini: Chargers -2.5 (-120 via FanDuel)
All the Chargers have done this season is win - and cover.
I wasn’t entirely sure why they were only the 3.5-point favorites against the Raiders, and I’m equally confused at this line against the Broncos. Denver struggled to beat Tennessee before losing to a surprising Colts team this year. But the Chargers are an entirely different animal. It’ll be the Justin Herbert show at home, and Los Angeles will cover for a third straight week.
Gary Pearson: Chargers -2.5 (-120 via DraftKings)
Herbert, the third-most clutch QB through two weeks, is on fire, while Bo Nix has endured an up-and-down start. Even without Khalil Mack, I hold more faith in the Chargers' defense at this early stage after Jonathan Taylor and Daniel Jones ran roughshod over the Denver Broncos in Week 2.
Sean Tomlinson: Broncos-Chargers Under 46 (-110 via FanDuel)
A defensive slugfest could be brewing between these AFC West rivals.
The Broncos and Chargers each sat in the top three in points allowed last year at 18.3 and 17.7, respectively, with the latter leading the NFL. That’s mostly carried over into 2025, and the Chargers are surrendering just 15 points per game thus far. Denver has been a little more susceptible, but a ninth-ranked pass defense should be able to contain Herbert enough so the Broncos do their part to keep this game Under the number.
LJ Blut: Cowboys ML (-108 via FanDuel)
The Cowboys are coming into this week off a thrilling overtime victory against the New York Giants.
The Cowboys showed they can put up points when needed, and Dak Prescott is still the guy. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions just embarrassed the Bears. Chicago's defense looks like it's about to endure a difficult season, and the loss of star corner Jaylon Johnson doesn't help the Bears in this spot against the improved Cowboys receiving room.
Ben Johnson's record as an NFL head coach is on the verge of being 0-3.

Best NFL player prop bets
Dustin Saracini: Saquon Barkley Over 86.5 rushing yards (-125 via BetMGM)

Barkley has to be licking his chops heading into this Week 3 matchup with the Rams.
How did he fare against Sean McVay’s squad last season? He racked up 52 carries for 460 yards, four touchdowns, and an eye-popping average of over eight yards per rush across two games against Los Angeles.
Those are mind-boggling, video-game type stats, and there’s every reason to believe he can cruise to the Over this week, too.
Gary Pearson: Kyle Pitts Over 36.5 receiving yards (-135 via BetMGM)
Kyle Pitts hit the Over on this total in the first two games, including a 57-yard outing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the opener and 37 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. He’s up against a Carolina Panthers team that's allowed the most yards per game to tight ends through two weeks (94).
Projections expect Pitts to add another 46 yards to his season total.
Sean Tomlinson: Tee Higgins Under 55.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel)
A whole lot of uncertainty lies ahead for the Bengals’ offense with Jake Browning now under center. He kept the team competitive during a similar lengthy run as the starter in 2023, but Browning gets a tough landing spot to begin now against a feisty Vikings defense.
The production of Cincinnati’s skill-position players will suffer as a result, including Tee Higgins’ output as he contends with a defense that’s allowed the third-fewest yards to wideouts so far this season.
LJ Blut: Jordan Mason Over 77.5 rushing yards (-110 via Draftkings)
Jordan Mason is by far my favorite player to target during the Sunday slate. The Vikings will need to pound the rock without J.J. McCarthy. The Bengals allowed the Jaguars to rush for 139 yards on 27 carries in Week 2, an average of 5.1 yards per attempt.
If Mason can average five yards per carry, he'll easily go over this total. Mason will be the featured back for the foreseeable future with Aaron Jones sidelined.
