Behind a resurgent Geno Smith, the Seahawks (7-6) have been a pleasant surprise to this point in the NFL season. But recent struggles have Seattle vulnerable to dismissal from the divisional race at the hands of the red-hot 49ers (9-4) on Thursday night.

SGP Predictions 49ers vs. Seahawks
49ers -3 (-118) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After opening as 1.5-point favorites, the 49ers have drawn 67% of the handle to push the number to -3 at FanDuel and -3.5 at DraftKings. San Francisco is just 2-3 ATS in road games, while Seattle has covered on both occasions in which it played as a home underdog this season. Still, it’s hard to ignore the respective recent trends for both sides as the 49ers have rattled off six consecutive wins to entrench themselves with a two-game lead atop the NFC West.
Attrition at quarterback hasn’t fazed the Niners in the slightest, as Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy suddenly appears destined to lead San Francisco on a playoff run. Even with Deebo Samuel out, Purdy still just has to get the ball into the hands of his talented weapons. He’s handled that task adeptly and should find success Thursday against Seattle’s 21st-ranked Defense DVOA.
San Francisco has cleared 30-plus points four times during this six-game winning streak, scoring 68 combined points with Purdy over the last two weeks. Seattle will struggle to keep pace against a Niner defense that hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in a game since October. We’re riding with FanDuel for the parlay because we can get the Niners at -3 instead of the -3.5 offering at DraftKings.
Christian McCaffrey Over 78.5 rushing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It feels like a monster game incoming for McCaffrey. We made reference above to Seattle’s subpar defense, but the Seahawks are particularly exposed on the ground, ranking with the seventh-worst run defense DVOA in the league.
McCaffrey just bulldozed over a capable Tampa Bay run defense for 119 yards on 14 carries last week, so a Seattle unit that allows 160.5 rushing yards per game (31st in NFL) should be no match for CMC’s prowess on Thursday.
Though McCaffrey has only cleared this line twice since joining the 49ers, his role should remain plentiful considering the third-string quarterback and absence of Elijah Mitchell as competition for backfield touches. Though Jordan Mason will mix in, that shouldn’t keep CMC from flirting with a triple-digit rushing output in this one.
Kenneth Walker Under 48.5 rushing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll shared that Kenneth Walker “jammed” his ankle in Seattle’s Week 13 win over the Rams, the description made it difficult to ascertain the severity of the rookie’s injury.
Walker missed Week 14 due to the ailment, but was back to practicing in full earlier this week to signal his readiness for Thursday night. But even a fully healthy Walker would project to struggle against the gnarly San Francisco run defense. The Niners have allowed fewer rushing yards than any team in the NFL at just 75.1 yards per game.
Before his injury in the Rams game, Walker was on pace for a big day. But in his two games prior to that affair, the rookie piled up just 43 total rushing yards on 24 attempts. Bake in the injury risk to that recent inefficiency. Stack it against the top run defense in the league. You’ve got an easy fade for Thursday night.
