The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football while hoping to keep their rivals from clinching the NFC West division crown. Read on for our top 49ers-Seahawks NFL pick based on the top odds.

In Week 14, 49ers QB Brock Purdy became the first-ever quarterback to beat Tom Brady in his first career start. The previous seven such who faced him in their first career starts lost by an average of 15.6 points, according to ESPN Stats & Info. San Francisco is amid its longest winning streak (six games) since 2019 and just won its eighth game by double-digits, the most of any team in the NFL.

Seattle trails San Francisco by two games in the division entering this matchup and needs a win to keep its NFC West title hopes alive. The Seahawks lost 30-24 to the Panthers last week to fall to 0-4 against NFC South opponents.

The 49ers were favored by 1.5 points when lines opened, but the spread is now -3 in favor of the road team, though some sportsbooks like BetMGM and PointsBet are posting -3.5. The Niners are getting 70% of the cash and 69% of the tickets.

The point total opened at 41.5, but has grown two points to 43.5. The Over is drawing 54% of the cash and 69% of the tickets.

49ers vs. Seahawks Pick

Seahawks +3.5 ★★★

The 49ers just handed Tom Brady the third-worst loss of his career, while most would admit the Seahawks inexplicably lost to the Panthers, who entered last week with a nine-game road losing streak. However, we are backing the desperate Seahawks at home as a contrarian play, as we expect Purdy to find life much more difficult on the road.

The key to the game will be Seattle’s run defense. The Seahawks entered last week allowing 5.3 yards per rush since Week 10 (30th) and 2.1 yards after contact per rush (31st), and just got steamrolled for 223 yards on the ground by Carolina.

However, Deebo Samuel does not figure to play for San Francisco after suffering an ankle injury last week. Thus, not having to deal with his versatility and being able to focus more of the game plan around slowing down Christian McCaffrey should aid in that respect.
