The No. 11 Oregon Ducks and No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks meet in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in what is expected to be a closely fought battle, and we have you covered with our top Oregon vs. South Carolina prediction based on the best March Madness odds.

The Oregon Ducks encountered difficulties in three of their last five regular-season games, leading to uncertainties about their March Madness prospects. However, they defied expectations by securing three consecutive victories in as many days, ultimately clinching the final Pac-12 Tournament title.

The Ducks have reached the Sweet 16 in their last four NCAA Tournament appearances, and they aim to capitalize on their previous March Madness success.

Meanwhile, the South Carolina Gamecocks have matched a single-season school record with 26 wins, a feat last achieved in 2017 when they advanced to the Final Four. Notably, three of their recent victories came against teams also participating in the NCAA Tournament.

As part of our March Madness predictions, here are our best Oregon vs. South Carolina predictions and college basketball picks (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Oregon vs. South Carolina odds

Oregon (No. 11) vs. South Carolina (No. 6) prediction: Midwest Region

N’Faly Dante Under 8.5 rebounds ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -120 via DraftKings

We are intrigued by the contrarian nature of this play, as Dante has grabbed nine or more rebounds in seven of the last nine games, including five of the previous six. However, South Carolina plays at a top-10 slowest tempo in the country and ranks 15th in average possession length offensively.

The Gamecocks have only played one game with 68 possessions all season, which needed an extra overtime period. Based on that, Dante should have fewer opportunities to grab boards than in the recent faster-paced games against Arizona and Colorado.

This is a four-star play, as South Carolina hits the offensive glass at a top-56 rate, securing 33.1% of its misses, and had the third-best defensive rebounding rate in SEC play.

Oregon vs. South Carolina best odds

DraftKings (-120)

Under 8.5 reboundsUnder 8.5 reboundsUnder 8.5 reboundsUnder 8.5 reboundsUnder 8.5 rebounds
-120-132N/AN/A-130

As of this writing, only three of our top sports betting sites have player props for this matchup. The best value of those offered is at DraftKings at -120. A $10 wager at -120 odds would pay out $18.33, while the same winning wager at bet365 would pay out $17.69 at -130 odds. The -120 DraftKings odds offer an implied probability of 54.55%.

Compared to FanDuel and DraftKings, bet365 offers unique “player prop milestones” where bettors who like Dante’s chances of securing more rebounds than the projected total can get longer odds for him to grab double-digit rebounds.

Oregon vs. South Carolina spread & Over/Under analysis

Aside from DraftKings (-1), our best sports betting sites have South Carolina as 1.5-point favorites. DraftKings and bet365 have gone back and forth from -1 to -1.5 throughout Monday, while Caesars made a big leap from a pick’em opening line to the Gamecocks by -1.5. The Ducks have been a popular underdog thus far, attracting 71% of early wagers.

Most of our best sports betting sites are in unison with an O/U of 132.5, while FanDuel is on the high end at 133.5. BetMGM was the only other one of our top sportsbooks that reached a total as high as 133.5, but Under backers drove the line down.

Compared to the point spread, there is much better two-way action on the total, with a slight 55/45 split in favor of the Over.
