No. 1 UConn will look to defeat No. 6 Notre Dame to advance to the Final Four for the 25th time in program history.

My best Notre Dame vs. UConn prediction for today's 1 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+) women's March Madness game at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, locks in on UConn's ability to defend Hannah Hidalgo and an upset-minded Notre Dame.

UConn is favored by 27.5 based on the latest women's March Madness odds.

🏆 Who will win Notre Dame vs. UConn?

I'm taking UConn to win this game by 32 points because, as impressive as Hidalgo was in the Sweet 16, the Huskies boast the best defense in the country. They already held Notre Dame to 47 points earlier this season.

Score prediction: UConn 82, Notre Dame 50

💰 Notre Dame vs. UConn prediction & best bet

UConn -27.5 (-110)

UConn will cover this massive spread because Notre Dame's defense isn't among the best in the nation. Notre Dame ranks 190th in scoring defense, and in the first meeting between these two, UConn's second-ranked offense scored 85 points and shot 56% from the field.

Notre Dame shoots 35.6% from 3-point range (19th nationally), but the Fighting Irish average just 6.4 makes per game. Notre Dame won't hit enough shots to keep up, as UConn ranks 19th in opponent's 3-point field-goal percentage. And in the first clash between these schools, Notre Dame was just 1-of-16 from deep.

🔥 Best Notre Dame vs. UConn player prop bet

Hannah Hidalgo Under 20.5 points (-114)

UConn is the best defensive team in the country, allowing 50.1 points per gameHidalgo scored just 16 points when these two teams met on Jan. 19, tied for her third-fewest of the season. She shot just 5-of-15 from the floor and 1-of-6 from 3-point range in that outing.

Hidalgo is shooting 47.8% from the floor and is averaging 25.3 points per game. She's also scored at least 23 points in 10 consecutive outings. But UConn hasn't allowed more than 52 points in nine consecutive contests, and opponents are shooting just 33.3% against the Huskies this season. Simply put, there won't be enough scoring in this game for Hidalgo to reach 20 points.

🚀 Notre Dame vs. UConn same-game parlay

It was a grind early for UConn against North Carolina in the Sweet 16, but I expect no such offensive struggles in this game. Notre Dame's defense is simply too inconsistent, and even if UConn's defense holds Notre Dame's offense below 50 again, I expect the Huskies to score enough to hit this Over. While Hidalgo has been excellent all season, she's already proven she doesn't match up well against the nation's best defense.

💵 Notre Dame vs. UConn SGP picks

💡 How I'm betting Notre Dame vs. UConn: Women's March Madness

Follow all of our college basketball analysis and expert predictions for March Madness.

It's hard not to love UConn is this matchup after what the Huskies did to Notre Dame earlier this season. Notre Dame is too reliant on its offense, and the Fighting Irish simply aren't good enough to keep up with UConn's high-powered offense.

Therefore, I'm risking two units on UConn to cover, and because I think the Huskies will score so easily, I'm also putting one unit on the Over.

📊 Live Notre Dame vs. UConn odds: Women's March Madness Elite Eight

UConn opened as a 29.5-point favorite, and the spread quickly dropped to 27.5. It hasn't moved since then, but I expect bettors to back UConn once the awe over Hidalgo's performance in the Sweet 16 wears off.

Don't be surprised if this hits 29.5 before tipoff, though I would still take UConn. As for the total, it opened at 140.5, and has stayed there. The first meeting went below this number, but both offenses have been great this season, so I don't anticipate much movement.
