With a slate featuring just one high-major matchup, my college basketball predictions and best bets today are focused on a pair of mid-major programs poised to put the scare in their opponents on Friday the 13th.

While backing Saint Louis and Miami (OH), two of the best mid-majors in the country, are my favorite plays today, I'm also locked in on two Overs in key Atlantic 10 and Ivy League games.

And don't miss our Michigan State vs. Wisconsin prediction for tonight's lone high-major showdown on FOX.

Saint Louis vs. Loyola Chicago prediction: Saint Louis -18.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

With the NCAA Tournament rapidly approaching, Saint Louis is playing at such a high level that it likely won't even be considered a true Cinderella in March. The Billikens are one of three mid-major teams ranked top 40 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

With Robbie Avila creating offensive mismatches and anchoring the defense, Josh Schertz's team is outscoring A10 opponents by an average margin of 17.9 points. It's 9-3 ATS when favored by more than 14.

Loyola Chicago has fallen off a cliff this season (7-18 ATS) and is ranked No. 311 in the country by KenPom.

Ohio vs. Miami (OH) prediction: Miami (OH) -9.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

There is just one team in college basketball that remains undefeated, and it's Miami (OH). Travis Steele's team is a perfect 24-0 with a 15-6 ATS record, thanks to an offense that leads the country in PPG (92.7).

It's hard to compete with a team as efficient as the RedHawks, who are No. 1 in the nation in field-goal percentage (53.6%) behind a lethal trio of shooters (Peter Suder, Brant Byers, and Eian Elmer).

Ohio's defense is ranked outside the top 230 and is allowing opponents to shoot 35.9% from deep, bottom 50 in the country.

Cornell vs. Princeton prediction: Over 154.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

Though neither of these teams is on Yale's level in the Ivy this year, this should be a fun high-scoring matchup. Cornell has the No. 2 offense in adjusted efficiency in the Ivy League, and one of the worst defenses in the country (No. 348)

The Big Red are putting up the third-most PPG in the nation (91.1) and allowing the seventh-most (85.1), due in large part to having the 12th-highest adjusted tempo rate.

Princeton has one of the best scorers in the conference, Jackson Hicke, and enough around him to help this Over hit.

George Mason vs. George Washington predictionOver 148.5 (-115 via FanDuel)

The battle of the Georges has one of the best nicknames in college basketball, the "Revolutionary Rivalry," and this year's is going to be a must-watch. Both teams are ranked in the top five in the A10 in adjusted offensive efficiency and have a star scorer.

George Mason's Kory Mincy (15.6 PPG) has the Patriots sitting No. 2 in field-goal percentage in conference play (47.4%), while George Washington's Rafael Castro (15.9 PPG) leads an attack that's putting up the third-most PPG (79.3) in A10 matchups.

The Patriots have hit the Over in five of their last six road games.
