College basketball best bets.

Our college basketball player props and best bets for Wednesday, which is based on the best college basketball odds, should help get you ready for a compelling mid-week slate of hoops.

After a top-10 clash highlighted the college basketball slate on Tuesday, only one game on Wednesday will feature a battle of ranked teams. But there is still plenty worth betting on.

The headliner comes at 8 p.m. ET, when No. 8 Marquette hosts No. 12 Texas as part of the Big 12/Big East challenge. The Big 12 has flexed its muscles against the Big East, but the Golden Eagles are sizable favorites against the Longhorns in Marquette coach Shaka Smart's first game against his former program.

There are plenty of other intriguing matchups set for Wednesday night.

Memphis takes on VCU, while Pittsburgh and West Virginia meet in a rivalry matchup. After a couple of tough betting losses for Tuesday's slate, we are hoping to bounce back in a big way on Wednesday.

Here are our college basketball player props and best bets for Wednesday (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Wednesday’s college basketball prop picks

Tyrese Hunter (Texas) Over 10.5 points (-110 via DraftKings) vs. Marquette ⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is an argument that Texas isn't nearly as good as its overall record and ranking. That's evident by Kenpom's ranking of 27th for the Longhorns, so it wouldn't be surprising if Marquette gives them a valuable lesson in Wednesday's marquee matchup.

But if Texas can keep things close, point guard Tyrese Hunter will likely be a big reason why. Max Abmas, a talented transfer guard from Oral Roberts, gets most of the attention. Still, Hunter has been extremely dependable in his second season with the Longhorns since transferring from Iowa State.

Hunter has cleared this mark in six of his seven games this season, averaging 12 points per contest. Hunter's highest usage came against UConn when he took 13 shots and finished with 13 points in a 10-point loss. With Marquette likely having its best defender on Abmas, Hunter will need to be just as aggressive against another Big East foe.

With a projection north of 12 points, there is value in taking Over 10.5 points at DraftKings. The juice is a touch higher at the rest of our best sports betting apps, so the -110 price is worth grabbing ahead of tipoff.

Wednesday’s college basketball game picks

UNLV +9.5 (-110 via ESPN BET) vs. Dayton ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dayton looks like the team to beat in the Atlantic 10 conference, ranking nearly 30 spots higher than any other league foe in Ken Pomeroy's adjusted efficiency margin. The Flyers have jumped a dozen spots based on their preseason projection after a 6-2 start, which includes losses to Houston and Northwestern.

UNLV, meanwhile, is just 3-3 and has fallen from a Kenpom preseason ranking of 76th to 130th. But that's also why we are getting a favorable number in this spot, as this spread is a couple of points higher than what I would make it.

The Rebels are allowing teams to shoot 40.9% from 3-point range against them so far this season, which ranks 354th in the nation. But some of that can be attributed to a small sample size, as the Rebels rank 76th in 3-point attempts allowed this season.

Dayton is a team that wants to play at a slower pace, while UNLV will look for opportunities to get easy points in transition. ShotQuality makes this spread below six points, so take this down to +8.5 to take advantage of a potential early-season overreaction by the market.
