North Carolina is favored over Duke to win the 2024 ACC regular-season championship, according to the latest college basketball odds.

As we close in on the end of this crazy college basketball season, two teams are locked in a tense battle atop the ACC standings. And it won't surprise anyone which teams those are.

North Carolina is the clear favorite to win this year's ACC title across our best sports betting sites, but Duke owns the same conference record as its archrival ahead of the final two weeks of the regular season. Both schools are two games ahead of Virginia, which looms as a potential dark horse in this loaded conference.

Here is a look at the 2024 ACC championship market (odds via our best March Madness betting sites).

Who is the ACC basketball championship favorite?

UNC (-200 via BetMGM)

Very little separates North Carolina and Duke atop the ACC standings, but the Tar Heels' win over the Blue Devils on Feb. 3 is the main reason why they remain the ACC favorites by our best sports betting apps entering the final two weeks.

While the final margin was just nine points, UNC effectively dominated that game from the opening tip with an inspired effort on both ends of the court. It then promptly lost two of its next three games to fall back into a tie with Duke heading into its final five games.

Those two meet again in Durham on March 9 in a game the Blue Devils should be favored to win. That alone is a reason to heed caution with this bet and perhaps consider a moneyline play in that game, instead.

ACC basketball odds 2024: Contender

Duke (+160 via BetMGM)

This feels like a bit of a slight to the Blue Devils, who own an identical ACC record (12-3) to the rival Tar Heels and should be favored in each of their final five games.

Duke does face a tough test on Saturday against Wake Forest, and a loss in that contest could serve as a de facto death knell to the team's conference title hopes depending on how the final tiebreaker shakes out. Still, this isn't a bad price given that the Blue Devils always seem to steal at least one win from their nearby rivals.

ACC tournament odds 2024

Our best sportsbooks haven't yet released betting odds for the ACC Tournament, though they have released Big East odds, so we can expect those to come for the ACC in the coming weeks.

North Carolina and Duke will both be among the favorites to win that tournament, as always seems to be the case this time of year. Don't discount Virginia, which has lost five games in-conference but plays a punishing style that always seems to cause issues for teams in the tournament.

ACC basketball odds movement

Duke entered this season as a fairly convincing +120 favorite over UNC (+425) and Virginia (+475), but the Tar Heels have survived the ACC gauntlet to enter the final two weeks as a consensus favorite to win its first regular-season title in five years.

This race clearly isn't over just yet, though, as North Carolina faces Duke in the final game of the regular season. Virginia also looms, even with a two-game deficit to clear over the final two weeks.

ACC basketball betting analysis

All of the best sports betting sites have North Carolina favored over Duke and Virginia entering the final two weeks of the regular season. Those three teams seem to be the only ones with a shot to claim this year's ACC title.

Realistically, the first two are the ones with a legitimate chance to win the conference, and they meet in Durham on March 9 in a game that will be circled on everyone's calendar as the biggest game left before conference tournament season.

If you like the Blue Devils' chances of winning that game, you might as well bet them now to win the conference, whereas UNC will likely be an underdog in that game compared to its short title price now.
