Big 12 Tournament Odds 2024: Iowa State Beats Favorite Houston for Tourney Title

Iowa State beat favorite Houston to win the Big 12 Tournament, closing as the second choice by the Big 12 Tournament odds and college basketball odds.

All season long, Houston has looked like one of the best teams in college basketball, if not the very best. But the Cougars saved their worst effort for the Big 12 Tournament final in a blowout loss at the hands of Iowa State.

The Cyclones (27-7) scored a dominant 69-41 win over Houston, which opened as the tournament favorite across our best March Madness betting sites. That didn't matter in the end, as the Cougars scored the third-fewest points by the nation's No. 1 team in the history of the AP Poll.

Conversely, Iowa State improved its NCAA Tournament seeding and saw its March Madness odds shorten across our best sportsbooks. Don't be surprised if the Cyclones are among the more popular college basketball picks as we enter the NCAA Tournament.

Iowa State entered the 2024 Big 12 Tournament with the second-shortest odds behind Houston, but the Cyclones sure looked like the best team in the conference after demolishing the Cougars in the tournament final.

Expect the odds for the 2025 Big 12 Tournament to release sometime in early March in the days ahead of next season's conference tournament. The Big 12 regular-season odds will be posted sometime this summer.
