Anthony Edwards returns to Intuit Dome tonight after winning All-Star Game MVP there less than two weeks ago. The Minnesota Timberwolves enter as an 8.5-point betting favorite over the LA Clippers. They had been a 5.5-point favorite earlier in the afternoon, but the announcement that Kawhi Leonard would be out pushed the line up three points. Below, I break down my NBA picks and best bet for the third meeting this season between these teams.

Edwards struggled when these teams met on Feb. 8, a 19-point Clippers win. He scored just 23 points and made 1 of 8 from beyond the arc. Look for Edwards to be less selfish tonight.

In a Dec. 6 meeting, he recorded four assists in a three-point win while scoring just 15 points on 11 shot attempts. Edwards knows he’ll have a hard time scoring, which makes him more likely to set up his teammates. DraftKings lists Edwards Over 3.5 assists at -127, but I would play this at the best sports betting sites up to -150.

Kawhi Leonard Under 40.5 points + rebounds + assists (-114)

Leonard has been playing through left ankle soreness, and while he went over this line against the Magic on Sunday, the Timberwolves are better defensively than Orlando. He has gone under this line in two of his last three games.

Leonard went over this line the last time he faced Minnesota, but that was before the Clippers acquired Bennedict Mathurin, who has taken away shots and rebounds from Leonard. DraftKings offers Leonard Under 40.5 P/R/A at -114, but I would still play this at the best NBA betting sites up to -125.

While I'm fairly confident that Leonard's P/R/A line is slightly off, I'm more certain that there's an edge on Edwards' assists line.

I’m expecting a lower-scoring matchup tonight, with the stars not putting up many points. However, I like Edwards to impact the game in other ways, while I see Leonard - who isn't fully healthy - playing more conservatively.

It's interesting that Clint Capela Under 4.5 rebounds (-155) is the most-bet player prop at BetMGM, even though Caesars offers the same bet at -150 (and Pinnacle at -110).

I wouldn't take anything away from Capela's Under being so popular, though he has recorded four or fewer rebounds in each of his last four games.
