Best NBA Parlays Today: Picks, Predictions for Tuesday's Play-In Tournament Games

Shane Jackson shares his favorite NBA same-game parlays for Tuesday's play-in tournament action using the best NBA odds. 

The 2023 NBA play-in tournament has arrived, and Tuesday's doubleheader should be a doozy. The Miami Heat will square off with the Atlanta Hawks in a rematch of last year's opening-round series that ended before it really began.

The Los Angeles Lakers hope to start a deep postseason run, but first need to take care of business against a depleted Minnesota Timberwolves squad. With two playoff spots on the line, let's cook up some plus-money parlays to maximize our entrainment for tonight's slate.

NBA SGP predictions: Hawks vs. Heat

Jimmy Butler to hit 1+ 3-pointer (-120)

As I mentioned in my Hawks-Heat predictions I like Butler to hit at least one 3-pointer in this showdown. We locked that straight bet in at -120 on DraftKings, but the Over 0.5 3-pointers is now being traded at -145 at the same shop.

In fact, the only way a bettor can still get the original -120 price tag is by placing a same-game parlay at FanDuel. Butler hit at least one 3-pointer in each game of last year's opening-round series against the Hawks, and he knocked down a triple in 14 of his 17 playoff games last summer. 

We expect Butler to be aggressive once again in a must-win game for the Heat, who have their sights set on a first-round matchup against the Boston Celtics in a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Finals.

Miami Heat moneyline (-205)

This same-game parlay gets boosted to +161 odds by adding Miami's moneyline price to our ticket. That is enticing enough for a Heat team that is favored by 5 points against the Hawks ahead of this play-in matchup.

Miami needed just five games to put away Atlanta in the opening round last year, and the regular-season series this past year was just as one-sided. The Heat won three of the four head-to-head matchups this season, including a pair of victories in early March.

NBA SGP predictions: Timberwolves vs. Lakers

Austin Reaves to finish with 20-plus points and assists (-130)

Similar to the first game, I already broke down why I am betting on Reaves to finish with 20-plus points and assists in my Timberwolves vs. Lakers predictions. Simply put, he has taken his game to another level over the last several weeks.

Reaves has cleared this mark in four of his last five games, averaging 20.4 points and 5.4 assists per game. In the playoffs, role players tend to perform better at home and can often be the difference in these magnified matchups. I expect Reaves to do just that against a shorthanded Timberwolves team.

Los Angeles Lakers moneyline (-380)

Reaves' combo prop of points and assists is set at 20.5 at our best NBA betting sites, which is why we are taking advantage of his -130 offering in the same-game parlay tab at DraftKings. Adding the Lakers' moneyline odds to this SGP gives us a +115 payout for the nightcap.

The Lakers are favored by 8.5 at our best sportsbooks, so oddsmakers clearly expect them to win and earn the No. 7 seed. We might not approve of backing such a lofty spread, but I have no problem betting on Los Angeles to win this game.
