Two of the WNBA's bottom dwellers face off tonight, but there are three plays for my Sky vs. Sun odds and prediction.

There is value even with teams such as Connecticut and Chicago, which have 13 combined wins and are easy to place in the WNBA championship odds. Tipoff from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., is at 7 p.m. ET, and the game can be viewed on Fubo TV.

Connecticut has dropped five in a row since its shocking upset over the New York Liberty at the start of the month. Chicago has only one win since mid-July, losing 10 games over that span.

The analytics suggest the Sun have the edge at home in this spot. More on that in a minute.

Chicago hasn’t had Reese since late July, going 1-4 without her over the last five games. In the four losses, the Sky have been blown out by an average of 16.5 points per game.

During this five-game stretch in August, the Sky rank last in the league with a net rating of -14.6, which is more than five points worse than the Sun over that span. Chicago’s net rating is -22.7 since July 14, which is more than 15 points worse than the next team (Connecticut).

While the Sky are trending downward, the Sun have shown more promising signs in recent weeks. Leila Lacan has made an immediate impact since joining the team in July, ranking second in the league with an average of 2.3 steals per game.

Saniya Rivers has also made the most of her role as a rookie. There is a young core to be excited about in Connecticut, even though it hasn’t led to many wins. I’ll bet the Sun have something to celebrate on Wednesday.

Tina Charles got the second night of a back-to-back off on Monday, allowing Olivia Nelson-Ododa to play 30 minutes. Charles, who is 36, is averaging 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

Charles could see her minutes decrease if the Sun opt to give their younger players more of a role. That’s undoubtedly a factor in this Under, as well as the fact that Charles has only cleared this PRA prop twice in her past six outings.
