Our Sky vs. Fever prediction examines why I think the Under 158 will hit and why Natasha Howard will cash the Over 6.5 on her rebounding prop.

The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever square off tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and my Sky vs. Fever prediction digs into how big Angel Reese's absence will be to the outcome. Indiana is a 12.5-point favorite ahead of tipoff at 7:30 p.m. ET (ION).

Reese is out due to a suspension after picking up her eighth technical foul, and without her, I expect Chicago’s offense to struggle. That’s why I like the Under 158 (-110) to lead my WNBA picks for this game. Her absence from the game should also open up opportunities on the glass, making Natasha Howard's Over 6.5 rebounds an appealing prop.

FanDuel offers an interesting parlay if you are like me and expect the Fever to win a low-scoring game. There is a -120 offering on a same-game parlay involving Under 160.5 and Fever ML.

That said, I like the Under on its own at 158. Reese missed seven games due to injury in August, a stretch where the Under cashed six times. The Sky only scored more than 70 points once over that span.

Her absence will be most felt on the offensive end. Chicago’s offensive rating is 8.7 points worse when she’s off the floor, dropping from 99.6 to 90.9. Interestingly enough, the Sky’s defensive rating is 4.5 points better without Reese.

As a result, I expect a defensive battle when these two teams face off on Friday. A $10 wager at Caesars provides a $9.09 profit at the standard -110 value for this Under.

💰 Best Sky vs. Fever player prop bet

🔥 Natasha Howard Over 6.5 rebounds (+130) ⭐⭐⭐

With Angel Reese missing this game, there will be more opportunities for rebounds. Natasha Howard knows that better than most, as she grabbed 10 boards against the Sky on Aug. 9.

Howard averages 6.6 rebounds per game this season, but she’s cleared this mark in seven of her past 13 outings. She’s had three different games with double-digit rebounds since Aug. 1.

I’ll take a plus-money price on this Over, earning $13 on a $10 bet.

📈 Sky vs. Fever betting odds analysis

The Fever open as 13.5-point favorites against the Sky, but have been bet down to 12.5 in some spots. Even without Reese, that’s a big line. This spread closed at 10.5 in the previous head-to-head matchup, suggesting this line might move toward Chicago by tipoff.

The total opened at 158, and I liked the Under there. That line has grown to 161, making the play all the more appealing.

How do WNBA odds work?

When betting on the WNBA, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -5.5 must win by 6 or more points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +5.5 must win outright or lose by 5 or fewer points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
