The Golden State Valkyries will get one “home” playoff game when they host the Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday at SAP Center Arena in San Jose. They were unable to play this game in the Chase Center due to an international tennis tournament.

My Lynx vs. Valkyries prediction expects Golden State’s fan base to make the drive to San Jose to provide a strong home-court advantage. That’s why my WNBA picks opt to back the Valkyries in the first half of a game in which the Lynx are double-digit favorites.

I also like Veronica Burton to clear her assist prop after winning this year’s WNBA Most Improved Player award.

There has been considerable outrage over the Valkyries' inability to play a home playoff game in the same venue they sold out in all 22 home contests this season. But that’s because they exceeded expectations so much, becoming the first expansion team to make the playoffs.

Golden State was especially impressive at home, posting a 14-8 record with a +7.7 net rating inside the Chase Center. The Valkyries ranked second in defensive rating at home this year, trailing only the Lynx.

While I lean the Valkyries to cover the full-game spread on Wednesday, I’d rather bank on the first-half angle. This is a perfect spot where Natalie Nakase, the Coach of the Year favorite, can make some adjustments following Sunday’s 101-72 loss in Minnesota.

I also expect the fans to show their support by making the trip to San Jose. After all, the Valkyries led the league in average attendance during the 2025 season, and this will be their only home playoff game.

At this -105 value, it’s a no-brainer to back Golden State’s first-half spread with a $10 wager netting $9.52.

💰 Best Lynx vs. Valkyries player prop bet

 ⬆️ Veronica Burton Over 5.5 assists (-135 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Of all our best sports betting sites, bet365 offers an incredible bargain on Veronica Burton’s assist prop. We can get a -135 price tag at that shop, whereas DraftKings charges as much as -154 for the same ticket.

The WNBA’s MIP has averaged six assists per game this season. She’s commanded an even higher usage of late due to injuries to Tiffany Hayes and Kayla Thornton. Burton has cleared this line in six of her last seven games, including seven assists in Game 1.

If Golden State hangs around, Burton could be a big reason for that.

How do WNBA odds work?

When betting on the WNBA, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -5.5 must win by 6 or more points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +5.5 must win outright or lose by 5 or fewer points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
