Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction, Expert Picks & Odds

Coming off their first win since July, the Tiger-Cats will look to win a second straight game with the Redblacks coming to town. But will Ottawa's defense be too much?

No team in the CFL has worse Grey Cup odds than the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who welcome the Ottawa Redblacks to Tim Hortons Field on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET (TSN/RDS, CFL+).

Ottawa's a 4.5-point favorite and quietly has the second-best record in the CFL, which is why we're expecting a strong showing from them in our Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats prediction.

Teams Moneyline Spread Total
Redblacks -192 -4.5 (-105) Over: 51.5 (-105)
Tiger-Cats +160 +4.5 (-115) Under: 51.5 (-115)

The -192 moneyline odds give the Redblacks a 65.75% chance of winning outright on Saturday. The spread of -4.5 means they'd need to win by at least 5 points for a bet on the Redblacks to be graded as a winner.

If the Tiger-Cats lose by 4 or less, or win outright, a bet at +4.5 would be a winner.

Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats prediction: Defense to dominate

CFL picks confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale.

Redblacks -4.5 ⭐⭐⭐

The job Bob Dyce has done in his second full season as the Redblacks head coach should earn him the Annis Stukus Trophy as the CFL's coach of the year.

After going 4-14 last year, Ottawa is 8-3-1 this season, and 6-1-1 since mid-July - which includes going 6-2 ATS during that stretch. That's thanks to a defense that terrifies opposing passers and eats running backs alive.

The Redblacks' defense is allowing the third-fewest rushing yards per game (88.5), the fourth-lowest QB rating (90.3), and has the third-most sacks (27).

Oh no, Bo

Led by Adarius Pickett, Damon Webb, and Lorenzo Mauldin IV, Ottawa can terrorize Bo Levi Mitchell - whose thrown the second-most interception in the league (12).

The QB situation in Hamilton is a big reason the team is 1-4 since the start of August, and is without a doubt the worst team in the CFL.

Hamilton's allowing the most points per game in the league (32.3) and the trio of Dru Brown, Ryquell Armstead, and Justin Hardy should be able to capitalize.

The Tiger-Cats are the worst team in the CFL ATS at 4-8, and if they fail to cover again, a $10 bet pays a $9.50 profit.
