The Philadelphia Phillies have finally leapfrogged the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series odds, though the gap between the two National League powerhouses is about as narrow as it can get.
The Phillies have been surging throughout September, and that includes winning a series against Los Angeles. That propelled them past the Dodgers in the odds, with Philly now sitting as the +525 favorite, and Los Angeles a smidge back at +550 betting odds through the best MLB betting sites.
The American League-leading Toronto Blue Jays continue to rise as well, and they're in third at +800.
📊 World Series odds 2025
Here are the live World Series odds from our best sports betting sites to help with your MLB picks.
🏆 Who’s the betting favorite to win the World Series?
⚾ Philadelphia Phillies (+525)
It could be a tight battle to the finish atop the oddsboard between the Dodgers and Phillies, but right now the latter holds the upper hand.
Don't forget the Phillies sat at +1100 through the best sports betting sites to end spring training, whereas the Dodgers were always the heavily favored front-runner while listed at +240 then. Even approaching midseason on July 1, the Phillies were being offered at +900 to win the World Series, via SportsOddsHistory.
They went 18-11 during August, largely due to one of MLB's best run differentials. A $10 bet at these +525 odds from bet365 would translate to a payout of $52.50 on an implied probability of 16%.
🎯 My best World Series pick
🍎 New York Mets (+2000)
The Mets tick a lot of boxes as a true World Series contender. The team boasts plenty of star power with the likes of Juan Soto and Pete Alonso, and it bolstered the outfield with Cedric Mullins joining from the Orioles at the trade deadline.
The team also bulked up its bullpen, adding Tyler Rogers and Ryan Helsley in separate trades. Couple it all with postseason experience, and this is a club that should be able to make a deep run. However, they'll need to play more consistently down the stretch in a hurry hold on to a wild-card spot in the NL and keep these juicy odds from Caesars alive.
A $10 wager would result in a profit of $200, with an implied probability of 4.76%.
