One cannot fault Los Angeles for dropping yesterday’s game, as starting pitcher Blake Snell appeared in his first game in four months. Given today’s starter, Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s dominance on the road, I am backing Los Angeles with my Dodgers vs. Rays prediction.

Yamamoto has pitched to a 1.78 ERA and .174 OBA in 11 road starts. The Dodgers are 3-1 in the righty’s last four road starts and won each of those games by three or more runs.

I am opting to lay the -1.5 runs with the runline as my Dodgers vs. Rays best bet, especially since Tampa Bay has covered the runline in just 37.7% of its home games this year.

The biggest reason for backing the Dodgers is Yamamoto’s ability to keep the ball in the park. He has allowed just three home runs in 60 ⅔ road innings this year, and all of Tampa Bay’s runs in yesterday’s win came via the long ball.
