The Bo Bichette next team odds are heating up alongside the MLB offseason hot stove as the winter meetings continue. Bichette is one of the top hitters available, though there's some murkiness tied to his market.

Thus far, the odds for where Bichette will sign from our best sports betting sites in Canada show a return to the Toronto Blue Jays remains the most likely outcome (-180, 64.28% implied probability). The division-rival Boston Red Sox, however, are charging up the board fast (+380) in what could become a two-team battle.

Bo Bichette next team odds favorites

Toronto Blue Jays (-180)

A reunion with the only team and city Bichette has ever called home has always been one of the clearest potential paths of his free agency, and it's an outcome he's embraced openly himself.

"I’ve said I want to be here from the beginning," he said minutes into the offseason after the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays during extra innings of Game 7 in the World Series.

Bichette would be a critical piece to a team clearly pushing to clear the final hurdle and win a championship for the first time since 1993. The Jays made a massive financial commitment to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. while signing him to an extension, and they did the same to secure the services of Dylan Cease.

They currently sit sixth in the World Series odds, and Toronto is the third-highest AL team while fresh off coming about as close as a club can to winning it all without actually doing it.

The Jays have been the favorite to re-sign Bichette since the market opened, and their odds have shortened a little recently at the best sports betting sites while moving from -125 to -180.

The concern for Toronto, and surely other suitors, is Bichette's shaky defense, especially at shortstop. However, that can be more easily overlooked for the Blue Jays if he's willing to play second base more, as Bichette did during the postseason.

Boston Red Sox (+380)

The Red Sox have been flying up the oddsboard, as less than a week ago they were getting +1100 betting odds at some of the other best MLB betting sites to ink Bichette.

He was a key contributor to a team that won the AL while slashing .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs across 139 games this past season. Bichette also posted a .348 batting average and .923 OPS across seven playoff games despite playing on one healthy knee. That kind of offense is a clear motivator for the Red Sox as they look for more pop in an always fierce AL East.

Boston didn't struggle for offense during much of last season, with the Red Sox finishing seventh in runs scored. However, both the AL East champion Blue Jays and New York Yankees finished above the Red Sox, with the latter leading all of MLB by a healthy margin (the Yankees sat at 849 runs with the Dodgers at 825, and Boston at 786).

The Red Sox need that extra boost, which is surely why they've been rising up in what seems to be a two-team race for Bichette by the odds. They recently held a Zoom call with Bichette, according to Ari Alexander of 7News Boston, and the two-time All-Star came away impressed. However, and as is often the case during the at times chaotic winter meetings, Julian McWilliams of CBSSports reports Boston is out on Bichette for now unless his market changes.

Bo Bichette next team odds prediction

Red Sox to sign Bichette

The conflicting reports regarding the Red Sox lead to some hesitancy here, but this prediction is more tied to how the Blue Jays' offseason is playing out. Whether it's Boston or another team that surprisingly emerges, it's not difficult to see Bichette's exit from Toronto.

The Blue Jays are being aggressive this offseason, though any team eventually meets a financial wall. Toronto has already dedicated significant capital to Guerrero, and more recently Cease. And Kyle Tucker, the most coveted hitter this offseason, is also high on their shopping list.

Tucker would replace Bichette's offense, and he doesn't come with the same defensive liability concerns. So while the seriousness of other teams may fluctuate, as could be the case with the Red Sox, there's a real possibility of Bichette being pushed out in Toronto due to greater priorities and/or motivations.
