Muncy can be a wildly streaky hitter, and we see that in his month-to-month splits, though this season he's been gradually building up. A .610 OPS in March and April gave way to an .851 in May, and now he's sporting a 1.081 with just a few days left in June.

He's reached that plateau through the familiar Muncy method of looking to do damage at every turn. His batting average sits at a pedestrian .242 as his OPS soars, and the infielder's hard-hit percentage rests in the 88th percentile at 50.8%, notably above Muncy's 43.4% last year.

The veteran will take all that against a Colorado Rockies rotation that's crumbling. It has allowed the fourth-most home runs leaguewide and is last in ERA. Tonight's starter, Chase Dollander, has led the plunge toward the bottom with his 14 round-trippers allowed, which is tied for 14th MLB-wide. His HR/9 is colossal at 2.2, as is his 6.19 ERA. The left-handed hitting Muncy also tears apart righties while slugging .508.
