Matt Fitzpatrick returns to Harbour Town Golf Links looking to defend his title, but Scottie Scheffler is the heavy betting favorite as we make our RBC Heritage picks for Harbour Town Golf Links based on the odds from our best golf betting sites.

Matt Fitzpatrick beat 2022 champion Jordan Spieth in a playoff to win last year's RBC Heritage. Both golfers find themselves a little further down this week's oddsboard, with freshly-crowned Masters champion Scottie Scheffler set as the heavy betting favorite at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Scheffler just won the Masters by a four-stroke margin over Ludvig Aberg. He's the heavy favorite by the PGA Championship odds as well as the opening 2025 Masters odds.

Here are our RBC Heritage picks based on this week's golf odds from our best sports betting sites.

RBC Heritage pick to win

Wyndham Clark

In marquee/signature events following majors, I prefer to target top golfers who missed the cut the week before. Especially those who will be angry about it.

Clark slipped from No. 4 to No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) with his missed cut in the Masters, but there's no denying he's been one of the best non-Scheffler golfers on the PGA Tour this season. He was the runner-up to Scheffler in both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship, and he won the abbreviated AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier in the year. He competed against a field very much like this one in each of those events.

So, we're getting an absolute steal via these +3500 odds from Caesars for Clark to bounce back with his second win of 2024. He has never missed the cut in five appearances in this event, and he had a career-best finish of T-29 last year. That was with much worse play off the tee than he has exhibited in 2024.

Odds for Clark to win outright are as low as +2800 elsewhere. In comparison, these +3500 odds would return an extra $70 in profit on a winning $10 bet.

Byeong Hun An top-10 finish in Round 1

An missed the cut in each of his last three trips to the RBC Heritage, but he had a top finish of T-7 in the 2018 event, and he's coming off a strong T-16 showing in the Masters. His play around the greens was his greatest strength at Augusta National, and that'll need to be his forte once again at Harbour Town. He was tied for eighth after Round 1 last week.

An enters the week at No. 38 in the OWGR. Aside from the Masters, he tied for eighth in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and for 16th in The Genesis Invitational against comparable fields to this one.

Scottie Scheffler's RBC Heritage odds

Best odds: +400 via DraftKings

Scheffler confirmed himself as the No. 1 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) with his dominant showing at Augusta National Golf Course. His second career green jacket was his third victory of 2024 and showcased his elite and well-rounded game.

His strength remains his ball-striking with a field-best 4.12 strokes gained: tee-to-green per round last week but there are certainly no weaknesses in his current form, and he gained 0.45 strokes per round with his putter on ANGC's difficult greens.

Still, +400 is a prohibitive price for any PGA Tour event, especially one following a major. Bettors are best advised to sprinkle on golfers with longer odds while using a reduced bet size and to target prop markets that help eliminate the threat of a Scheffler win.

How to bet on golf

To bet on golf effectively, understand the various bet types available and how to evaluate player performance. Start by familiarizing yourself with common bets like outright winners, each-way bets (covering both a win and a top finish), head-to-head matchups, and prop bets for specific tournament events, such as hole-in-one occurrences or player performances on certain holes.

Once you've chosen your preferred bet types, conduct thorough research on players, course conditions, recent form, and other relevant factors that may impact outcomes. Consider player statistics, recent tournament performances, course history, and any injuries or changes in form that could affect a player's chances of success. This information will help you make informed betting decisions and increase your chances of success in golf betting.
