🏆 Bet Scottie Scheffler To Win The Players Championship Now: Odds Won't Get Better

Scottie Scheffler is already the heavy betting favorite to win The Players Championship, but I'm expecting his odds to shorten by tournament week.

Scottie Scheffler is a two-time champion of the both The Players Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. That's why I'm betting him to win golf's fifth major before next week's PGA Tour event at Bay Hill:

🔢 Scottie Scheffler's odds to win The Players Championship

Two weeks out from the 2026 Players Championship, we're getting much better odds than I expect to see coming tournament week.

Scheffler is coming off his worst finish of the season (a backdoor T-12 result in The Genesis Invitational 😱). He's off this week for the Cognizant Classic, which will have the two-time champion of Bay Hill Club & Lodge tee it up next week rested. That's a scary thought for the rest of the field.

Only three of our best golf betting sites are offering early odds to win The Players, with those odds ranging from +250 to +335.

Sportsbook Odds Implied win probability Profit ($10 bet)
BetRivers +335 22.99% $33.50
DraftKings +305 24.69% $30.50
Caesars +250 28.57% $25

That's a potential difference of $8.50 in profit on a winning $10 bet between the books. We need to act early on the futures odds with our golf picks to win The Players Championship before betting action picks up by tournament week and the odds align.

💰 Why I'm betting Scheffler this week

Scheffler's T-12 finish in The Genesis Invitational was his worst result since a T-20 placing in last year's Players Championship. This comes while he plays a schedule that consists predominantly of majors, Signature Events, and the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The only "regular" events Scheffler has played in this span are:

  • Texas Children's Houston Open (T-2)
  • The CJ Cup Byron Nelson (Win)
  • Charles Schwab Challenge (T-4)
  • Genesis Scottish Open (T-8)
  • Procore Championship (Win)
  • The American Express (Win)
  • WM Phoenix Open (T-3)

These odds will only get shorter

Due to his reign of terror on the PGA Tour that has seen him claim all 20 of his victories (and an Olympic gold medal) since Feb. 13, 2022, Scheffler is routinely the most-bet golfer in the outright betting market each week he tees it up. He's the favorite by the Masters odds and each of the other three majors this year. He won three of the last eight major championships as the betting favorite.

He's No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). He leads nearly every statistical metric that matters. His poor Round 1 scoring in the last three events is overemphasized after he shared the first-round lead in The American Express en route to victory.

Course history at Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass

Here are Scheffler's finishes and pre-tournament odds in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship since 2022. Scheffler finished T-15 in his 2020 debut in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and missed the cut in the 2021 Players:

Year Arnold Palmer Invitational The Players Championship
2022 Win (+2000) T-55 (+3000)
2023 T-4 (+1000) Win (+1000)
2024 Win (+650) Win (+550)
2025 T-11 (+350) T-20 (+550)

Scheffler and caddie Ted Scott have proven their mastery of many of golf's best and hardest courses. Scheffler has won five different tournaments twice each, including the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, and the Masters. Tiger Woods had that same penchant for dominating courses with which he had any degree of familiarity.
