AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am First-Round Leader Picks: Can Justin Rose Win Thursday?
Last Updated: February 11, 2026 3:55 PM EST • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
Shocker - Scottie Scheffler (+650) is the favorite and leads our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am first-round leader predictions, as the limited field of 80 in the PGA Tour's Signature Event gets ready to battle the weather for a $20-million purse.
Tee times will begin at 11:45 a.m. ET off the first and 10th tees. Scheffler is the +300 outright betting favorite by the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds. Watch Thursday's first round on PGA Tour Live (ESPN+) and Golf Channel from 3-7 p.m. ET. Our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am long shot picks have everything you need to get you fully set for the weekend ahead.
💰 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am first-round leader predictions
Here are our top golf picks for the 18-hole leader of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am:
| Player | First round leader odds | OGWR |
|---|---|---|
| Rory McIlroy | +1100 (Spyglass Hill) | No. 2 |
| Justin Rose | +1700 (Spyglass Hill) | No. 3 |
| Hideki Matsuyama | +2000 (Pebble Beach) | No. 11 |
Note: The first-round leader market is decided once everyone in the field has completed their first 18 holes. This may be Friday morning in the event of a weather or darkness delay. You can bet on first-round leader odds for Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill seperately.
🎯 My targets
Past success is paramount when picking first-round leader odds, and Justin Rose (my best pick) has just that. Rose won this event in 2023 and has some of the most consistent course history in the field.
⛳ Who'll lead the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after Round 1?
Best FRL bet: Justin Rose (+1700 at Spyglass Hill)
Round 1 tee time: 1:16 p.m. ET | Group: Patrick Rodgers
At 45, Justin Rose is undergoing a career renaissance, punctuated by a historic, seven-stroke victory at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open where he shattered Tiger Woods’ scoring record at Torrey Pines.
Fresh off a week of rest, the 2023 Pebble Beach champion is primed for another deep run, which should start on Thursday. Rose's game thrives in the blustery, rainy conditions that Pebble Beach is known for. With a win and three top-10s already on his Pebble Beach resume, he's a great bet at +2700 - let's ride the hot hand.
Rory McIlroy (+1100 at Spyglass Hill)
Round 1 tee time: 12:24 p.m. ET | Group: Ryan Fox
While I also like Rory (No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking) to take this event outright at +1400, we'll take the defending champ at +1100 to be at the top of the leaderboard after Thursday at Spyglass Hill.
McIlroy captured this event last year with a composed final-round 66 to finish at 21-under, and he should once again be firmly in contention once he steps onto the tee box at No. 18. He opened his season with a T-3 in Dubai before slipping to T-33 last weekend, but expect him to come out firing in his return to the States.
Hideki Matsuyama (+2000 at Pebble Beach)
Round 1 tee time: 1:29 p.m. ET | Group: Scottie Scheffler
If it's one man who needs a hot start after collapsing on the 17th and 18th hole to ultimately lose the WM Phoenix Open last week, it's Matsuyama. It helps he's paired with Scottie Scheffler, too - if it's one thing that'll kick you in the rear end, it's playing with the No. 1 golfer in the world.
⛅ What to consider when betting on the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am first-round leader
Betting on the first-round leader of any golf tournament is far different than betting on the tournament winner or any prop market.
Here are the factors I always consider with my first-round leader picks:
- Tee times
- Weather
- Course history
- Round 1 scoring average
- Recent form
- Key stats for the week
The first-round leader betting market is much more volatile than the 72-hole event. As such, the odds for the tournament favorites are higher in this market, and the odds for the long shots are generally slightly shorter when betting on the 18-hole sample.
Early tee times are generally best to target for your picks. Courses are often at their softest and easiest, with no divots in the fairways or wear on the greens. But the weather can significantly change that line of thought. Monitor the weather to be sure your desired golfers will be dodging the worst of the rain and wind, should any be in the forecast.
