Utah vs. Colorado Player Prop Bet Odds & Touchdown Picks: Sanders Struggles Against Utes

Utah versus Colorado offers many intriguing prop bet opportunities, and we're focusing our attention on Will Sheppard, Micah Bernard, and Shedeur Sanders for Saturday's Week 12 tilt.

Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes host the Utah Utes on Saturday. Since starting the season 4-0, the Utes have dropped five consecutive contests. Despite their recent free fall, their defense is 24th in total yards allowed.

What does that mean for our best Utah vs. Colorado player prop bet picks?

The latest odds have the Buffaloes favored by 11 points, so it seems oddsmakers aren’t expecting their eighth-ranked passing offense to have any trouble this week.

What should we expect from Sanders and his receivers at noon ET (FOX) at Folsom Field? The below picks are part of our college football Week 12 predictions

Utah vs. Colorado touchdown pick

Will Sheppard anytime touchdown (+145) ⭐⭐⭐

It’s hard to feel overly confident in any touchdown-scoring props in this game. The Utes allow just 19.3 points per game and average the same on offense.

Because of the Utes’ defensive prowess, I refuse to take Travis Hunter to score a touchdown for prices that are -145 or worse. This is a game where the Buffaloes may only score two touchdowns, so that’s way too steep of a price.

Instead, I’m taking Will Sheppard.

The receiver has caught a touchdown in four of his last five games, and he’s racked up at least four catches in four of his last five. He’s becoming a more reliable target for Sanders, and his price is the most valuable of any Buffaloes’ receiver.

Best Utah vs. Colorado prop bets

Micah Bernard Over 75.5 rushing yards (-115)

Despite the Utes losing five consecutive games, Bernard has run for at least 75 yards in three of those contests. He’s also rushed for over 110 yards in four games this season.

The Buffaloes allow 149.9 yards per game on the ground, 67th in the nation. Their much-improved unit is only allowing 3.9 yards per attempt. But Bernard is averaging 5.8 yards per carry this season, and he’s likely to get his usual number of carries in a game that I believe will be closer than many expect.

After all, the Utes have lost just one game by more than eight points.

FanDuel is so confident in Bernard that his total set is 80.5, while the rest of our best college football betting sites has the number at 75.5. The price for the Over at bet365 is -115, almost identical to what FanDuel is asking for five more yards.

Best odds: -115 via bet365 | Implied probability: 53.49%

Shedeur Sanders Under 320.5 passing yards (-114)

The totals between the three major sportsbooks offering this prop vary widely. FanDuel has the total set at 320.5, and the sportsbook is asking -114 for the Under. Meanwhile, bet365 has the total set at 298.5, asking -115 for the Over. A 22-yard range doesn’t happen often, so it’s worth a look.

That said, the Under is the play I’m most confident in.

In three of his last five games, Sanders has thrown for fewer than 300 yards. He’s failed to hit this total more often than not, throwing for more than 320 yards four times and fewer than 320 yards five times.

The Utes have the 24th-ranked pass defense in the nation, allowing just 188.0 yards per game this season. Sanders has yet to face another opponent that ranks in the top 50. A winning $10 bet will yield an $8.77 profit.

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%
