Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers will make his return from injury for the Red River Showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners. Check out our top Texas-Oklahoma picks below.

Ewers' return from injury comes just in time for one of the Longhorns most-anticipated games of the season. It also comes after Texas's 38-20 win over West Virginia last week. Ewers will hope to help get the once-ranked Longhorns back on track.

Oklahoma was also previously ranked this season but has dropped out of the AP poll after back-to-back losses to Kansas State and TCU. Both defeats came with the Sooners closing as the betting favorites.

Texas vs. Oklahoma Odds

Texas vs. Oklahoma Odds Analysis

Texas has grown from a 4.5-point favorite to laying 8 points with Ewers named the Week 6 starter. That has helped the Longhorns draw 67% of the tickets and 72% of the handle on the spread.

The Over/Under hasn't been nearly as impacted by Ewers' return. The line has moved from the consensus opening number of 65 to 65.5 with 78% of the tickets on the Over accounting for just 52% of the handle.

Texas vs. Oklahoma Picks

  • Spread: Texas -7 (-107 via PointsBet) ★★
  • Over/Under: Under 65.5 (-107 via PointsBet)
  • Prop: Oklahoma Under 28.5 (-115 via DraftKings) ★★★

Texas vs. Oklahoma ATS Pick

Texas -7 (-107) ★★★

Texas is 4-1 against the spread this season, while Oklahoma is just 2-3. The Longhorns are excited about getting Ewers back, while the Sooners are falling apart, and don’t know who their starting QB will be.

Games between these two teams tend to be competitive, with the last three contests decided by one score or less. In their last 10 meetings, the Sooners have won seven matchups, but the Longhorns have covered seven times.

The Longhorns haven’t won by more than a touchdown since 2013, but haven’t faced an Oklahoma team like this since then either.

Texas vs. Oklahoma O/U Pick

Under 65.5 (-107) ★

The play is likely Under because the Longhorns’ defense allows just 21.4 points per game, and they've stepped up huge throughout the season. Additionally, Texas could be playing against a backup QB.

However, it’s hard to be confident in this Under, because of what Oklahoma's defense has allowed in the last two weeks. Against Kansas State, the Sooners gave up 41 points, then allowed 55 last week against TCU.

Even if Ewers isn’t ready to play, and the Longhorns have to use backup Hudson Card for the fourth week in a row, they may be able to score over 40 by themselves.

Texas vs. Oklahoma Prop Pick

Oklahoma team total Under 28.5 (-115) ★★★

The Sooners average 37.0 PPG, but their offense hasn’t looked as dominant as those numbers suggest. In their two matchups with Big 12 opponents, they've scored a combined 58 points. Oklahoma has been playing from behind over the last two weeks, which lets their offense score late when the game is well in hand.

The Sooners could clear 30 in this contest, but if Gabriel doesn’t play, it’s hard to imagine them scoring more than four touchdowns against Texas' defense.
