What in the world happened to the Cowboys last week? Oklahoma State’s previously high-octane offense laid an egg, 48-0 at Kansas State as the Cowboys fell victim to their first shutout loss since 2009. Even after posting the donut, though, Oklahoma State’s offense ranks 33rd in efficiency.

That’s a good sign coming into this meeting with a Kansas defense trending rapidly in the wrong direction. The Cowboys will find far more room to operate against Kansas’ D (83rd in FBS efficiency) than it did against K-State’s No. 6 defensive efficiency in FBS.

The Cowboys haven’t lost to the Jayhawks since 2007, a 12 consecutive game span. Though Kansas' O-line offers hope, the Jayhawks' defense hasn’t performed in recent weeks. Quarterback Jalon Daniels returning would be a boost but may not make a difference unless he returns as a defensive back.
