Odds Released on Where Deandre Ayton Will Play Next Season?

DraftKings Sportsbook has a betting market available for which team Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton will play for next, and the Suns are currently the betting favorite at +120 odds.

Ayton is a restricted free agent, so even if the Suns fail to reach an agreement with their first overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, the organization will have the option to match any contract he is offered from another team.

The 2022 NBA Draft on Thursday would have been a potential time for Ayton to be traded, if the Suns were considering that route,  but he remained with the organization.

Now, time will only tell whether or not the Phoenix brass will open their wallets to shell out and meet Ayton’s demands, which might just be a max contract.

The Detroit Pistons have the second shortest odds to be Ayton’s next team, but they made a draft-night deal to acquire center Jalen Duren from the Charlotte Hornets after being selected with the 13th overall selection. 

Presumably, adding Duren crosses the need for a big man off the Detroit wish list.

While it remains widely speculated that there’s still potential Ayton is moved in a sign-and-trade transaction this offseason, the DraftKings odds of +120 have an implied probability of 45.5% that he’ll stick with the Suns.
