You would be hard-pressed to read the US legal sports betting headlines lately and not see Caesars Entertainment. The elite gambling provider has done a remarkable job keeping its name front and center as we head into the bread-and-butter NFL season.
The latest Caesars news comes from Maryland and their iconic and beloved NFL franchise, the Baltimore Ravens who on Wednesday made the elite Caesars sportsbook “premier sports betting partner”. Wednesday’s announcement follows Caesars’ early-week announcement that they had struck a deal for official NFL data with Genius Sports.
What It All Means
Sports betting provider/sportsbook partnership deals have become the norm, not the exception in the US legal sports betting industry. In typical fashion, Caesars Sportsbook will be in charge of providing Ravens and wagering enthusiasts an elite online sports betting experience and eventually a top-tier retail experience at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, which is currently under construction.
The deal has been described as a "multi-faceted partnership" in which the Ravens, the sportsbook and the Casino Horseshoe Baltimore will all be involved. Caesars becomes the Ravens’ official sportsbook partner and the Horseshoe Baltimore, in turn becomes the official casino partner of the NFL franchise.
Chris Holdren, Co-President of Caesars Digital, commented: “We’re excited to grow our strategic partnership with the Baltimore Ravens by serving as the two-time Super Bowl champions’ official sports betting partner and expanding our role as the team’s only casino partner. This new agreement clearly establishes Caesars Sportsbook and Horseshoe Baltimore as the team’s most prominent sports betting partner and provides our customers with extraordinary access to Ravens games, signature events at M&T Bank Stadium, Ravens training camp – even the team’s away game trips and the Super Bowl.”
The Perks
The deal will run for five years and give Caesars all to the normal perks afforded sportsbooks when they sign on with professional franchises. Included will be the usual Caesars branded signage that will be visible throughout the home of the Ravens, M&T Bank Stadium. The Caesars name will be featured heavily on signs throughout the stadium and be a fixture on the stadium’s LED scoreboards.
Other typical benefits to the sportsbook include access to all Ravens marks and advertising on the team’s official websites. Caesars also becomes title sponsors of such integral Baltimore Ravens programming as the Ravens' pre-game show on baltimoreravens.com, mobile app, Facebook page, and other digital platforms.
Flock Pick 6, the Ravens-inspired Pick-game will also be sponsored going forward by the Caesars brand.
Horseshow Baltimore Also Wins
Horseshoe Baltimore Casino is the third entity that quietly benefits from the Caesars/Ravens tie-up. They become the official casino partner of the iconic NFL franchise, dramatically expanding their brand exposure. Their casino also becomes a focal point for the proposed high-end entertainment district in Baltimore slated for the territory between the Ravens’ home stadium and the casino itself.
Horseshoe Casino will be the title sponsor and host of Baltimore Ravens-themed events taking place at the club level at M&T Bank Stadium, as well as the pre-Ravens game reception called Ravenstown on Saturdays prior to the team’s games.
“This agreement represents a bold expansion of the winning relationship we already share with Caesars and Horseshoe Baltimore. We are constantly exploring ways to create additional opportunities to engage with our fans and introduce our team to new audiences while supporting the city we call home. In collaboration with Caesars and Horseshoe Baltimore, we are not only continuing to develop unique fan activations but also transforming the city’s Southern Gateway into a diversified entertainment district unavailable to sports fans in other NFL markets,” said Baltimore Ravens Chief Sales Officer, Kevin Rochlitz.
Early Jump on the Maryland Scene
Caesars, thanks to its latest partnership deal, not only strengthens their already airtight relationship with the NFL but it also gives the sportsbook an early jump on a Maryland scene that has not been legalized just yet. Hopes remain that citizens in the state will be able to place their first legal sports bet sometime during this NFL season.
Caesars, the Baltimore Ravens and Horseshoe Casino Baltimore have all positioned themselves to take immediate advantage.
