The Associated Press (AP) will share its US election results with Kalshi.
The expansion grants Kalshi access to the AP’s US Election Vote Counts and Race Calls. The global news giant will send national and big state US Election Data directly to Kalshi, enabling them to display verified US Election Vote Counts and official race projections alongside their forecasts. Kalshi will integrate AP's live election data into its site.
Prediction market apps grew in popularity during the last election. The company recorded more than 500 million visits during the 2024 presidential election, positioning itself as a widely used destination for tracking electoral developments. The addition of AP's data will also provide users with real-time vote counts and confirmed race calls, alongside trading activity tied to election outcomes.
“The Associated Press for nearly two centuries has played an essential role in the American democracy as the most authoritative source for accurate results on election night,” said David Scott, vice president for AP Elections. “We’re pleased to be working with Kalshi as we work to expand the reach of AP’s trusted elections data, meeting audiences where they are with reliable information about who voters have chosen to lead their country and communities.”
Jaron Zhou, Head of Politics at Kalshi, added that combining AP's vote results with market-based forecasts would give users a fuller view of election night, merging official tallies with shifts in trading expectations.
According to AP, it has counted votes and declared winners since 1848. In 2024, it reported results in nearly 7,000 races with a 99.9% accuracy rate.
The organization previously confirmed agreements to provide election results to ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News, in addition to its longstanding customer FOX News Media. CNBC and MS NOW were also added as election clients. In 2025, AP created a standalone AP Elections unit following a 30% rise in customers compared with the previous presidential cycle.
CNBC and Kalshi expand prediction market coverage
The AP agreement builds on Kalshi's broader media partnerships. In December, CNBC entered a multi-year exclusive arrangement with Kalshi to incorporate real-time prediction market data into its editorial coverage across television, digital platforms, and subscription services. The move follows a similar partnership with CNN the same week.
Under that partnership, CNBC began integrating Kalshi market data into programs including Squawk Box and Fast Money. The network introduced on-air segments featuring live probability shifts tied to political, economic, and financial events. A Kalshi ticker now runs during portions of CNBC programming, displaying market movements in real time.
Kalshi also launched a dedicated CNBC page on its website featuring markets selected by the network. The collaboration marked the first time a global financial newsroom embedded exclusive prediction market data directly into its reporting streams.
“The world of finance depends on real-world outcomes; Kalshi predicts those outcomes,” said Tarek Mansour, CEO of Kalshi. “Together with CNBC, we’ll bring accurate, market-driven predictions to financial reporting. It’s the next evolution: moving from data about what’s happening now, to real-time forecasts about what’s happening next.”
