any thoughts on fish - murray tomorrow morning eagles? think i'm leaning fish, trying to find reasons why murray could win

I think Fish has a great shot. He's beaten Murray three times in a row, twice on hard courts. I think if Fish serves like he has all week, the pressure is on Murray to match him and hold. Can imagine we could see at least one tense tie break. Both guys are excellent tie break players. Really think the odds should be about a pick 'em. Not that far off here, but Fish at even or better is worth a go. I have both guys riding in futures plays so I am probably going to pass and just see who wins and gets into the final.

By the way for all the value hunters tomorrow who will be all over Berdych ... he's not a good match-up traditionally with Djokovic. Djokovic may be hurting, but you saw what he can still do. Berdych handicap of +4 or better I think is worth it. Moneyline ... very small if you must, but I think Djokovic is going to get through somehow.

I agree with you on Djoker here, I think they are gonna not put enough value because of the 2:30 pm start. And Djokovic is clearly not going to 'tank' anything, he is here to play. Berdych will have a chance though if he can serve some bombs like Monfils was

I almost always side with overs between two Russian women. With Vera's return game and weak serve, there's likely to be a couple handfuls of break opps in this match. Don't doubt this one could go three, although if Sharapova is going for winners and hits her spots ... Vera will be up against it. Still, I think Vera has a shot here as weak as her serve can be, Sharapova isn't immune still to those days of sucking major ass on serve.

They've played a lot of tight matches over the years and Vera has been very solid all week so overs wouldnt be too bad at all. I've taken Sharapova -2.5, her eyes are fixed on winning Cinci and staking her claim to be the favoruite for the USO. Plus she's defending her runner up points from last year at this event, so a bit more to play for in this match.

She doesn't really have to worry about points with the way she finished at the French & Wimbledon. They're both playing to keep solid momentum and win, period. Don't think either one is going to try harder than the other - both are great competitors.

Totally agree, momentum is key at any time of the year heading into a grand slam. Almost forgot that Sharapova had been injured most of last year so she picked up a shitload of points after Wimbledon. Sharapova's getting back to her old self again so it's always hard Yo go against her. Vera's a nutcase and I don't like the fact she was beaten in straight sets twice in two weeks to Radwanska.

Typical Vera. Takes advantage of Sharapova's weak serve in the 1st set, but completely falls apart on-serve in the 2nd. Going to a 3rd. As expected, the Russian-Russian match-up yields an over! Not it gets interesting.

Sorry, slept in today and went to see Captain America. I had Murray as a futures bet, so I happily took the retirement to get the +540. Don't think I would have bet the match at all given that both guys were fatigued and carrying some injury issues. Obviously came to fruition with Djokovich retiring.

Fading Pavlyuchenkova. She's been a hot mess this summer. She was a good casher last year on hard courts, but since early this year - she's been pretty beatable. Dushevina already has court time through qualis and made it through pretty cleanly.

it didn't seem like pav was losing to much lesser players though, definitely not betting this one but i think she's got a pretty good chance of beating dushevina -- bol hope it hits!

Well EP, debating whether to head over to Winston-salem this week to catch some Tennis action. I live in chaepl hill, so would not be far. Thinking of going thursday for the QF day session. Of course would have to have some scratch riding on the matches!!

Clement draws Dancevic. Dancevic from all accounts that I have read has been a mess this Summer. He hasn't played a competitive match since Wimbledon and contracted bronchitis earlier this month. Even if he was healthy and had some prep, not sure that he deserves a favorite's tag here. Clement not always great on this surface, but certainly has a shot it would seem.

Not sure about Monaco. Not a great surface for him. Nieminen I am sure will be a popular pick today. Have to figure Istomin gets fatigued at some point and I think he had some sort of hip issue at the end of the last tournament he played.

At this stage in the season, questioning players motivation will most likely return you a profit, and as always, fading davydenko in the early rounds of a dinky tournament like this is worth a shot. the last we heard of him, he lost to fish in the second round the W&S open in Cincy 6-0, 6-2.
