First of all Yesterday didnt go as planned. A bit of a rough stretch, but like a natural free flowing graph we will be heading upwards shortly. This Brings me to additional thoughts, i need to revise this thread to see where my major faults are and to see where my strengths sit. Maybe a group thread should be made? Maybe i should just be playing Quarters to finals matches. I have noticed that i either clean up or i get torched in the early rounds. Its not good enough. I will take the next couple of days to break this down. There is alot of great Tennis minds on this forum.

It's the reason why I usually focus on one tournament per week, and Mens Singles (sometimes womens singles later in tournaments when I see fit). And normally I try to pick a tournament with a good field, with players who look like they are going to compete.
Last year I spent too many unnecessary hours trying to come up with 3 or so picks from every tournament when one was going poorly because my attention was diverted. And then I'd have a poor hit rate throughout that tournament.
It paid off with the early clay tournaments where seeded players were not even making it to the QF lol. And then when I made plays in the SFs/Finals at times it worked out well for me. That is not to say I do not follow these other tournaments at all either, because I do to keep track of form and trends etc but I've found that the above works for me.

The above was not easy for me because I'm an information and stats/numbers junkie who likes to absorb everything I see and read but I understand and continue to tell myself i'll be better for it in the long run.

So when there is a week where there are no mens tennis tournaments on after big tournaments etc like this week I'm more then happy to just sit out and enjoy the spare time. Unless when one of my contacts who follows and bets on womens has solid mail I'd much more likely then not bet.
Of course i'll still go to my usual websites and catch up on tennis news like we all do but yeah...

However what ever works is different for each individual. And it's up to the person to find out what that is. We are in freaking April and the season ends November or whatever it is. It's so easy to burn out quickly early on (and ive found in the past it's very possible) when you're looking at over 100 matchups (mens/womens/doubles/challengers/live bets etc) each week for odds/lines/totals so if I can cut that down by a third and zero in on one at a slower pace then i'll do it.

No matter how good or average/bad one is the patience and discipline is something you're always learning to better and even I am still learning to better myself at that. I think it is the case with anyone and the Vegas Pros because it's a challenge that is always going to be there. The books don't care if you clean up or are wiped out on a particular day so neither should we.

I hope some of this has been useful to read but I do stress everyone's situation is different and unique, no one should tell anyone how to go about their business...

De Greef at -110 odds was laughable today versus Rodionov.

                                Incredible.

Yeah it seems like theres a small transition window going on right now where the players arnt fully commited until the ATP Clay season starts. This week has been a shit show

Live odds were about +1100 at Bookmaker. Saw it but didn't give her a chance.

I got it @ +450 down 2-4 then ostapenko lost serve 2-5 thought it was dead money... Rogers is mentally weak. I remember from previous matches.

You want to know your strengths? Here goes (only data since march):

3u or *9 Favs: 10-2 (I also loved the Federer vs Isner pick)
                                          2u or *8 First set dogs 9-3
3u or *8 dogs 12-10 (not great BUT it's actually 10-12 if you took MLs instead of spreads, I'm starting to do that myself these days)
                                          Overs 4-2

                                          Total: 35-17
Anything outside of these 4 categories is either break even or worse, e.g. 19-18 2u favs.

Spreads are a funny thing. Today I bet on Marcora @3.4 and Sakkari @2.12, the former won by 7 games and the latter by 9. If you had bet Paire +6.5 @1.01 and Petkovic +8.5 @1.01 you would've lost both bets, that's how useless spreads are. Spreads are lazy and dangerous, they make you take a dog even though you don't think they can actually win. If you're forced to take dog ML you will only take the best value dogs.

                                            Just hit a big one:

                                            BECK C / NAVARRO E vs. JURAK D / OSTAPENKO J
Player to win the Match ?

                                            BECK C / NAVARRO E
                                            +1541

                                              Damn, thanks for that Gaze

Sure, it's all about selectiveness. No need to force plays every day unless it hits the high confidence criteria. For me there was a drought of really good tennis bets this week so I simply didn't bet most days.
