I'm a little out of touch with Challenger players atm. What do you think of Viola to beat gombos @ 3.30?
I've always thought Gombos is overrated and recently winning a tournament only cements his favouritism amongst the less savvy.
Viola is playing at home and on clay I'd make it pretty close to 50/50.
Gombos for sure every day of the week on hc.

Don't like Bedene personally. Gonzalez is a mean scrapper when he gets his teeth into a match and a natural clay courter. Bedene the deserved fav obviously but don't like the odds one bit.
Maximo has been poor this season but has plenty of experience and fight in him.. so I'm sure he'll turn it around any match now. On his day he has a lot of game on clay against players of Bedene's pedigree.Comment -
You are very right about that Gombos is overrated, he usually is this year so far.
But i had decided to stay away from him, he is totally unpredictable.
I faded him against Mahut, he was clearly overrated imo, he won.
Then i faded him against Barrere, he was again overrated imo, he again won.
Then noticed he is again overrated against Smith, but since he f*cked my last two bets, i decided to take no action. And this time he lost to Smith.
I decided not to bet on Gombos games anymore.
For Viola match, i see some value on Viola. but not much.
Both Viola and Gombos are not having a good season so far .
It is no question that Gombos is a much better player than Viola.
But this is clay season starting for both of them, and we dont know yet how they ll play.
And Gombos is an unpredictable overrated player so far this year. It all sums up some slight value on Viola.
But i recommend no bet on Gombos games.Comment -
Cheers for the reply fellas. I've gone ahead with a 2 unit play.
My gut has been right with the last few plays so not going to second guess it just yet.
*edit. Worth noting too that the home players are really lifting here. Starace, Cipolla and Quinzi were all healthy underdogs and all are delivering during the last hour or so.Comment -
You are right about Bedene's character, He seems to be in a search of having a much better career, but could never settled mentally.
But IMO Bedene is a much better clay player.
Actually the main reason i am confidant about betting on him, is that the surface is clay. He is better than Gonzales, Gonzales is not playing well lately.
Bedene was most succesful in clay couple of years ago, then probably he decided to choose himself a career as "all-surface player". The guy wants to be top 20 top 10 player if he can. That is probably where all his mental fragility comes from. Martin Klizan for e.g. tried similar transformation, he was successful to certain level, then he also started to show inconsistency in his task. Bedene is in a similar route, imo.
Being a top player needs to be good on all surfaces, and it is not an easy thing to do.
Anyways now he got British passport. He is greedy for success, and it may have a boost effect on him. I will watch his career closely, it will be interesting to see where he will goComment -
Maximo Gonzalez has beaten Djokovic on clay though. In recent years too. That deserves respect!
