#570Ram's going to have to win a set, kind of thought that might be needed anyhow. Kind of a silly 1st set for him. His service games he's been ahead mostly, but has let Smyczek work back into them and got that one break.Comment -

#574Jano +3 might be a solid play. ML, I mean it's not a terrible play, but their match here last year looks like a probable re-run or something along those lines unless Gasquet goes on an overnight coke kissing spree. Gasquet plays the big points better and Janowicz would need an untouchable serving day I think to have a legit shot to win. He hasn't shown consistency on-serve to do that. Still has a loose handful of games somewhere that gives the opponent a shot to break.Comment -

#578Rotterdam Preview on the blog. Twitter me to find it. Here's a shorty from it.
ATP Rotterdam
One of three men’s tournaments this week, Rotterdam takes the lead as the only 500-level event as some of the tour’s top dogs get back into action for the first time since the Australian Open. Defending Champion Tomas Berdych returns as the #3 seed this year. He’s 12-6 all-time at Rotterdam. Andy Murray is your top seed this week. He won this event back in 2009 and sports a 7-3 mark overall here. Milos Raonic makes his Rotterdam debut as the #2 seed. Stan Wawrinka is the 4th seed with Grigor Dimitrov, Ernests Gulbis, Roberto Bautista-Agut and Gilles Simon rounding out the top eight.
Last year’s event was ripe with upsets with three unseeded players making the semifinals. That’s not out of the normal for Rotterdam as 2013 also saw a pair of unseeded players make the semis. In fact, since 2011 at least one unseeded player has made the semis in Rotterdam. The champion however usually comes from the seeded player pool. The top seed however is no guarantee. Since 2010, the top seed has made and won the final twice, but has also failed to advance past the quarterfinals the last two years.
As far as seeds being knocked out early, it does happen here routinely. In the last four years, nine seeded players have lost their first matches of the tournament. In that same span, qualifiers have fared decently in the 1st round with a 10-6 mark. So look for strong qualifiers in good match-ups as they may spring a win or two to open this week.

Can't say Australia didn't give it a good ride against Germany on that futures play. Two of the four singles matches went extra with the Aussies unfortunately losing both, 12-10 Stosur losing to Petkovic and then Gajdisova losing 8-6 to Petkovic today. All-in-all, a good week though to get above the break even mark on regular plays. Now need to get the futures hitting better. Will have Futures playing in Rotterdam and then looking over Memphis or Sao Paulo potentially for more.

#582He usually turns it on for one of these Golden Swing tourneys, just a matter of guessing correctly. His draw is very workable, so it's all about whether he gives two shits or not. Pretty wide open tourney really. At least they shifted this tourney indoors finally to combat the rainy season in Brazil, so this week again - no weather delays!Comment -

#584Liking the Fognini future. Get him early in the clay season while you can as the odds are nice after he has a bad hard court season. It's the same with him every year, terrible hard court player and one of the best clay courters to get his ranking up into the top 20.
Also liking Delbonis to go back to back. His draw is favourable as Robredo is unlikely to play in my opinion. No way has he recovered from his injury that fast so I expect him to withdraw or retire after playing half a set again. Regardless he is 3-0 against Robredo. Almagro is out of form/coming back from injury and Delbonis bet him here last year. Cuevas he won against last year and only Vesely he lost to which is a threat.Comment -

#590There's definitely a small edge for guys with bigger serves. It's not like a super slick indoor hard court where serve totally can carry someone, but it can make a difference. It's part of the reason I am trying Vesely.Comment -
