#142To think a 3rd world government () will even give a shit about fighting this on behalf of the books in laughable. Usually these countries main revenue source is either some sort of farming or tourism. I'm sure the online bookmaking scene isn't doing anything but giving them headaches, especially since most arent even regulated.

#145this isn't as bad as the poker sites, bookmaker won't close shop and fold. Since WSEX was prosecuted everyone knew sportsbetting was illegal.
The fact that domain names are so easily seized is outragous. So much for the internet being the last bastion of freedom. Now when we tell China they shouldn't sensor the internet for their citizens we are the hypocrites. China isn't seizing domain names, just filtering the internet for it's own citizens. Not sticking up for china, but what our government is doing is worse. The age of the internet being a place where free speech and free markets lived we will now have each country carving up their own internet and controlling what their citizens can do or see..and say.

#153It is but only in Nevada n Delaware. I would rather they just regulate it in the US. This way I don't have to talk to some foreigner when I'm pissed at the sportsbook. It's a billion dollar industry they aren't going to shut the door on it completely. Weed and gambling biggest revenue streams that the US will dig into once China stops funding our country. Lower the debt with taxing people's vices. It won't be a fast process but it will happen.Comment -

Affidavit submitted in support of four seizure warrants: two pertain to two domestic bank accounts; one pertains to nine foreign pank accounts in various countries. Contents of account number 0243058780 in the name of Chargestream Ltd at ABN AMRO Bank NV (FKA: Fortis bank Netherland NV) located in the Netherlands.
Basically the Feds set up a sting operation where they created a payment processor and got deals with CRIS sites as well as BetEd. Other sites did not use the payment processor and as such are not charged in this case.Comment -

#165Bookmaker and DSI will not survive if they continue to do business with U.S. players
Looks like the FBI sending a message to the entire offshore gaming world, if you do business with people in U.S. they will come after you.
Meanwhile pinnacle sportsbook is laughing.. They have no worries.

Looks to be about $0 for Costa Rica.
Not hard to make more than that in gambling income.
Yes it's true when something like this happens there are always dozens willing to pipe up and say "business as usual."
And for every one of those there is about 20 screaming "this is the end!" (again?)
The biggest threat right now to Bookmaker is not the nuisance of their domain being seized, or the smattering of bank accounts that were seized, but rather customer panic causing a "bank run" on player accounts.Comment -
