Using a paid poster to promote a paid advertiser in this forum is just plain wrong. At least put a note in such threads that the poster is on the SBR payroll. I am referring to the JJ thread about The Greek being an A+ Book. No question that The Greek is top notch, but it is shady at best to use a paid poster to shill your advertisers. It would be much worse if he proclaimed BetPhoenix as an A+ Book, because we all know differently. They are a C Book at best. My point is that, yes, The Greek is an A Book, but don't use JJ Gold to hawk them unless you put a disclaimer in the thread.

#2If you don't like that behavior don't look at any of JJ's videos pre-June 2010. There are a variety of other posters that are less blatant but just as comically fellating their prospective books as well. It is pretty easy to figure out who they are.Comment -

I mention shills and they appear! Your Sportsbook.com (D-) has just made another major theft (see below). Shills for shit books are the worst.
10.13.2010 07:08 PM
Sportsbook.com Group — Sports.com & AllStar confiscate $39,000 from winning player
AllStar (SBR rating D-) & Sports.com (SBR rating D-) allegedly confiscate $39,000 in winnings. A player writes to SBR that on September 21st, his accounts were closed after he won $35,000 on tennis parlays.
The player deposited $10,500 to AllStar and increased his balance up to $49,500. He deposited $1,000 to Sports.com and still has $6,900 in pending wagers at the sportsbook. He was told that he would be refunded the $10,500 in AllStar deposits, but would only receive his $1,000 back from Sports.com if his pending wagers won.
AllStar and Sports.com are both operated by Jazette Enterprises Ltd.. Jazette is the label behind the Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) family, and has acquired a reputation for confiscating funds from winning players. In this alleged instance of theft, the AllStar manager claims that the winnings were being voided due to the player circumventing limits. However, the player states that he was fully aware of Jazette skins policy and that he consciously avoided wagering the same game at each site. | Sportsbook.com group confiscation reportComment -

#20This is indeed bad news, and I look forward to hearing more of the details. I will certainly be more careful with racking up large balances at Jazette books now.
Hedgehog, what is the difference between what I have said about Jazette, BetOnline, or SBG that is different than what you've said about Heritage? You made a thread promoting Heritage because they have treated you well. And I do the same for books that treat me well too, through the offering of promotions/good lines/fast payouts/etc.
It is simple. If you just want a secure book, play at Pinn/Greek/CRIS. If you are willing to take more risk that your balance will be confiscated, then non-A+ books are worth looking into. SBG/BetOnline/Jazette books have made me a lot of money; I only share my experiences with them to other posters. It is clear to anyone with half a brain that going after these books, albeit somewhat risky, is extremely worthwhile.
Do you honestly think I am on the payroll of any of these books?
You never make any sense, and every post you make proves you have a small time mentality (and an anger management problem).Comment -

#21I don't think this is unique to this site. In every blog or "comments" from an article on AOL or MSNBC you'll see the first 3 responses filled with paid advertising for "Cougars dot com" or "Russian teens 4U" or some crap like that. Every forum is an opportunity for someone to promote. It's just the way it is. This isn't an editorial...it's an open forum.
As far as guessing on shills..isn't that like "outing" someone. So much material here, anyone knows where to go or not to go in five minutes. Shit..there's more information here about sportsbooks than Consumer Reports has on cars.Comment -

#24You think SB.com is an A Book (and you call me dumb?) and I know Heritage is as A+. The difference is that no one will lose any $$$ following my opinion. Your advice to deposit at a known stiff book is wreckless. While potentially profitable, Jazette comes with extreme risk.
Suppose SBG or Jazette or whatever offers you a 30% bonus, 3x rollover. You send $10,000 and get $3,000. If you go on a winning streak you could end up with about $40k in this book before you withdraw. And when you ask for the withdrawal they could stiff you. This costs you $40k. So how many times do you have to hit this bonus and get out before they stiff you, to make it worthwhile? Well $40,000/$3,000 = 13.3. Take SBG for example. I have been hammering them for almost 3 years and have more than crossed the 13.3 times needed to at least break even if they stiff. If they took $40k from me today I would be pissed, but would not regret having played there. In this example I biased all of the numbers against my argument - I assumed that you won all of your bets and racked up a big balance when in expected value you will probably end up with slightly more than you started with (the $13,000).
The moral of the story is you should not deposit at the shop if you think that you can't hit them 13 times without them stiffing you. Having played there for 3 years, as well as knowing many others who are doing the same, and none of us being stiffed leads me to believe the probability of ME being stiffed is incredibly small. Even the probability of anyone being stiffed is incredibly small based on almost 3 years of a clean record. You will reply that SBG hasn't been clean for almost 3 years, and you're right, but they have been from my perspective: they've only gone after guys hitting longshot futures, and the last serious victim was some syndicate. Sure they should not be doing this, but it doesn't apply to me or most bettors. If I hear of them stiff a guy taking their bonuses and hitting their square numbers, then I will run out of there as fast as I can.
Summary: Risk of stiff > 0 but EV of bonus and square lines (including probability of a stiff) is greater than you can find anywhere else. Some of us have more sack than you HedgeHog
PS: Heritage wants nothing to do with Mathy, but if they did I am sure they would easily be in my top 3.Comment -

#25MDC: Talk about dumb posts. I played at SB.com in the past and won way more than they stole back. Same with BetonSports which you're too young to remember (anything over 3 years ago is ancient history to you). I don't bet at just A Books, but unlike you I recognize the risk of betting at less than average Books. However I won't endorse these dangerous, yet potentially profitable outs as an A Book which you did. You're either a SB.com shill or just wrecklessly oblivious.Comment -

#32I don't know why I give you guys advice anyways. The fewer customers a book has the more likely they are to offer good promos to me. Some will say my motivation is to get others to deposit, giving the book enough liquidity to pay me. But if a book is going to stiff then it's not going to pay me anyways. Unless of course I am on their payroll. I wish.
