    Sportsbooks
Hey, I'm fairly new to here so I'm sure this has come up before, I tried to search for it, but figured I would rather just post.

Was just wondering how many sportsbooks do you really need? You know, to get the best odds. Do the "professionals" basically use unlimited (well all the well-rated ones)? How many books, not too little, and not too much (if true), does a player need to have to be successful and get the full selection? I figured 3-5, correct me if I'm wrong.

The ones I'm looking at as a U.S. player are (in no order), Bodog, Matchbook, Bookmaker, Bet Jamaica, Legendz, and World Sports Exchange.

          Hi Yung,

That's a fine list but I'd take off Bodog. You should have everything you need. Matchbook is great in terms of reduced juice, the liquidity is good for American sports. The set number of books you should use isn't predetermined by anyone, it's just on your individual needs. There will be books that offer juicy deals from time to time, but their ratings may fall into a territory where you should be cautious and stay up to date on SBR's reviews.

          Good luck!

Matchbook, Bookmaker, WSEX, 5Dimes, Legendz, and BetJamaica are all fine choices. However, I would have to agree with Brick Tamland and choose ThePig over [iSBRFORUM]Legendz[/iSBRFORUM], because of the lower vig rate.

i do agree with people in this thread advising to have a -105 vig book. If your looking for such a type book to add to your arsenal. Then I would suggest BetOnline.

BetOnline (formerly BestLineSports) is an Ok recreational book that offers reduce juice, however if you start winning at a pretty good clip they will cut your -105 vig or the 7-1 odds they offer on 3-team parlays limits (if you signed up under that option).

Their funding methods could stand a little improving, but what book really couldn't these days. They offer Western Union, MoneyGrams, cashiers checks, and bank wires. The withdraw options and fees really need some revamping, because they charge $50 for cashier check type withdraws.

They have been around since 2003 and even though they did have a rough stretch in December, 2007 due to a glitch processor, but have corrected the issue, and have no outstanding complaints levied against them.
