Its important that we separate " gambling" from the process of analyzing the very
predictable patterns that certain sports team produce over and over again...
and only then, invest in that high percentage predictable environment while
simultaneously having protective risk management safeguards in place....

It's all about attitude. I treat gaming like a business. I am in it to make money, not to gamble. Frankly I could care less how others do. I will take money from anyone. It's a business, not a personality contest. Last week I was at the club with my wife. A couple of friends wanted to play a little liars poker. No big stakes. Just a friendly game. My wife tried to warn them not to have me play, because they would lose. They did not listen. They lost. One learned. The other is just aching for a "rematch". I have no pity for him, because he will lose again. Some people just never learn their lessons. I am a very good poker player, but I am not going to go heads up against Phil Ivy. Know your limitations.
If you treat gaming like a business, you have a better chance of winning. No guarantees. But at least your attitude will be in the right place. Like all businesses, you can never learn enough about it, but the more you know, the better your chances are. Remember one thing. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Those who are in a position to shake off the reversals and go on are the ones who survive in the long run. Unfortunately for most amateurs, and some pros, they never learn that lesson.
